We each got food, two drinks, and a dessert and spent $40-$50 each. We also paid $18 to get into the Sand Dunes Recreation Center and The Greenhouse was an additional $7 each. In total it was about $70 each.
The atmosphere is awesome here! Covered in plants with a grass area, indoor & outdoor seating, a game area, 4 hot pools, a bar area, sauna, and the bar of course.
We got there at about 11:00am and stayed until 5:00pm. It gets more crowded the later it gets. Staff was super friendly and the food and drinks were delicious. We camped at the Ramble campsite nearby and it was a great weekend getaway. I recommend staying here for at least two hours to get your money worth but it was a fun experience.

I’m so glad I happened to find this place! The food and atmosphere were great. The salmon was one of the best things I’ve ate! Wish I would have gotten a better pic of it.

A decent sangria, hallelujah! Costs $7 to get in if you're not a member. If I lived in the area, I'd totally be a member!

What a wonderful little surprise. We came here expecting a scrappy pool after renting boards for the sand dunes and ended up staying for almost six hours. Super friendly staff, good guests, and you should absolutely go down to the greenhouse.

Rad hot springs at the Sand Dunes rec center. Loved this place. It’s a giant greenhouse! Get too hot and Step out onto their patio where there’s a gorgeous view of the San Juan’s and a beautiful breeze.

Can't find better!
The Steel Box Bar is located inside the adults-only Greenhouse area of the Sand Dunes Recreation facility. They offer a food variety of food and drinks. You make a line and order at the counter and they give you a buzzer/pager when you’re food is ready, and you pick it up yourself at the counter. We didn’t try the food, but everything looks really good! You can pay as you go or open a tab. Fantastic experience.
Be prepared to wait. Food can take over half and hour. Definitely make sure to order when you first get in as you’ll be able to get a thorough soak in all the pools by the time your food is ready.

We came here after visiting the gator farm (the only place of note for 15 miles in any direction). We were totally impressed with the food and the environment! An oasis in the middle of nowhere, The Greenhouse is the adult section of the Great Sand Dunes Recreational Center, the bar is The Steel Box and it did not disappoint. An exotic plant garden surrounds the soaking pools and the food and beer were awesome! It was the perfect end to our anniversary trip to the dunes.
Amazing food and great beer selection
My mind has been blown! ????AWESOME!!!!!
We got a campsite here for our stay at the Great Sand Dunes, and we found it such an enjoyable place that we would certainly return. We got a tentsite spot that worked out well for us, there are quarter-operated showers, nearby portapotties, and good onsite wifi. The restaurant on-site was a big plus, they have a huge menu and everything we ate was tasty. Another bonus is they have the sandboard/sandsled rentals for 24 hours. We didn't get to take advantage of it, but they have a very nice pool that is naturally heated from thermal springs. And the last bonus is in the back, there is a luxurious Greenhouse bar and pools that is great for evening relaxing. And the staff were all very nice and helpful. (Note: we did not have camping neighbors, so I can't comment on proximity that other reviews have; we liked our spot.)
Stayed here mid August, 2020. Did not follow COVID regulations. The staff in the Greenhouse did not wear masks, not even the cooks. One staff member kept it around her chin. Guests, groups of 10 or more, would congregate in hot tubs or near waterfall. We did not stay in Greenhouse long, but wanted to as it was very nice. The outside pool was better. Families there, most adults socially distancing, easier to spread out. Campsite was OK, but campers next to us were up late drinking and talking loudly and no one around to enforce quiet time after 10 PM.
