The food is delicious but don’t be in hurry! If you’re in a hurry, I’d say that this place isn’t for you! It does take a while to find a person to seat you, get your order taken and to receive the bill!

According to my wife Face on the Floor in tthe bar. Read poem..
If we had just stopped in for a meal, maybe it wouldn't have been so disappointing. But this wasn't just a meal, it was a night out for the Opera and this was Central City Opera's promoted dinner venue. This was not fine dining. For starters the last we saw of our waiter was when he took our order, the food was delivered by a runner and I had to flag down the host to pay; no more water, no nothing. My $29 steak was pre-sliced, pretty small, and came with french fries. It was alright and only cost $29, but again, this was a night out for the Opera. The wine came in one of those squat little wine glasses your grandma has, no swirling to enjoy the bouquet or visually watch the legs going down the side. Just wine in a glass. I suppose it didn't really matter because the wine selection consisted of La Crema and Kendall Jackson. Fortunately the Opera was fantastic and Sonic was open till midnight so we didn't have to go to bed hungry.
I love this unique little bar/restaurant. The menu is limited, but everything I have eaten there is very good. The service is always prompt and friendly. My favorite area is the "garden room." I don't know that they call it that, but it has lots of plants and lots of natural light. A visit to Central City would not be complete without a meal or two at the Face Bar.
We were seated in the garden area and enjoyed our table for two. Good service and quick delivery so we had time to relax before attending the opera! Waiter was courteous and we were greeted by a friendly host
Limited menu, but very convenient if you're going to the Central City Opera. Nice bar, bartenders and drinks.
The food was outstanding! The service was terrible. Made reservations and seated at about the worst table in bar area. Was told other tables were “reserved “ even though I had reservations. Also server messed up our order totally. She didn't write anything down and didn't bring one of the entrees. She also didn't bring one of our cocktails until we asked again. The week before everything was perfect. Sad about the bad experience. Not sure I will return
We had reservation but check in was chaotic & we were seated 25 mins later with rush to get over to the opera. The waiter was absent most of the time & very disorganized. Food just average this time.
This has been our Central City Opera dining choice for 30 years. Food, service and ambience were particularly good this summer. We hope the same team is there in 2026.
Delightful, quiet, comfortable place to relax and enjoy Central City before the matinee opera.

It is so pleasant to eat at The Face Bar. The variety of foods available are diverse enough that we all have our favorites. Very relaxing, old time atmosphere. It is slightly expensive for what it is, but it is so good that that makes up for the cost.
The menu was lovely. My chicken Cobb salad was great! The service was warm. Highly recommend!
Loved both the Salmon and the Tacos! The Peaches dessert was also very good. Initial service was a little slow, but once our order was taken everything went smoothly.
I understand that it is hard to find employees in mountain towns. Aside from the very nice server who clearly could not understand us (language?) and did not take the order correctly (we did not receive all of the appetizers we ordered), the meals for our table of six came out 2 at a time, 15 minutes apart (I timed it). If your kitchen cannot handle a full seating of patrons before the opera, do not take reservations for so many people.

The service provided by Danette was awesome. The lunch menu was full of very interesting choices all made from scratch nothing is frozen. We selected the Colorado Cobb Salad, Blackened Shrimp Tacos and Soy Glazed Salmon Salad. Eating our selections in an establishment from the 1800 's was over the top. The plating of each selection combined with the taste is truly an amazing treasure. If you're up in Central City do make your way here for some GREAT FOOD AND BEVERAGE.
