I understand that it is hard to find employees in mountain towns. Aside from the very nice server who clearly could not understand us (language?) and did not take the order correctly (we did not receive all of the appetizers we ordered), the meals for our table of six came out 2 at a time, 15 minutes apart (I timed it). If your kitchen cannot handle a full seating of patrons before the opera, do not take reservations for so many people.

The service provided by Danette was awesome. The lunch menu was full of very interesting choices all made from scratch nothing is frozen. We selected the Colorado Cobb Salad, Blackened Shrimp Tacos and Soy Glazed Salmon Salad. Eating our selections in an establishment from the 1800 's was over the top. The plating of each selection combined with the taste is truly an amazing treasure. If you're up in Central City do make your way here for some GREAT FOOD AND BEVERAGE.

Don't go if you have tickets to the opera. While the place is nice, the service is super slow. 4 servers walked by. None took our order. When we stopped one she thought we were checking out and paying before we Even ordered.

I do love Teller House for the historical value. Not for the current food service.

I really want to like this place more. I understand that it's basically everybody's first day, since they are only open for a few days a year. It still feels like they could do a better job of training the staff. We ordered an appetizer and two main courses. All three came at once. I ordered steak frites "medium", the first time they came out blue, the second time rare. By the time they made it back the third time, one of the sides was missing.

I love this restaurant and the catering company is superb. So why the low ranking? I had a special request to be in the garden room because my mom is 86 and she can't hear well with her hearing aids. We had reservations at 5:15 as did many others have reservations at 5:15 Even with reservations we were placed in the bar, Worst experience ever people were constantly walking by the noise made it impossible to have a conversation. We just got appetizers and left as soon as possible Last year the experience was 100% excellent food ambience noise I don't know why they didn't grant the request for to top in the garden room , I will make reservations by phone next year not on open table and I will not come in for a seated in the bar. I regret to give a poor review, but this just was not acceptable as others we drive 2 1/2 hours to the mountains to get here , my mom probably has a couple more years and this was not the experience. I want her to have. The Rush 515 overwhelmed the hostess.

Great place to eat before the Opera. The food is really good and is actually very affordable. My wife and I had the salmon salads at $19 which we ordered rare and they actually came out rare. Huge portions. Very interesting and good brownie desert. Serice was great. Only downside is that the Face Bar dining room does not have enough servers (2 for the whole room which is half of what is minimally needed, 6 being the normal number). The location is in a very historic building but Central City is out of the way and this is not a regular restaurant but a special events venue only active on Opera days. So, I am sure that is hard to attract talent.

The french onion soup was very strange. No onion taste at all. Neither my wife nor I could identify the source of the flavor, but found the soup inedible. The glaze on my wife's salmon was way over salted. The Angus burger was OK, but lacking such amenities as onion or Pickles. The peach desert was good and the service was good.

We had lunch before a matinee opera. The location is very convenient but the food was just mediocre. The shrimp tacos were a little bland with no garnish or side dishes. The service was fast enough to get us out in time for the opera, but we had to keep asking for the check.

I highly recommend Rouge at the Teller House in its current model of the contract with Serendipity Catering. We have gone to Central City Opera for many years, and the ability to have a good sit-down lunch conveniently before the opera has been quite variable through the years. Serendipity is the best vendor for Rouge that we have experienced in several years--we hope it stays!

I liked the menu this year so much better. The French Onion Soup was just the thing for lunch before a big dinner out after the opera. If you do the catering next year, keep the same menu, or at least the appetizer choices. The reservation system worked well, and you accommodated us even when the opera bus was 15 minutes late. Service was great and we were able to accomplish our other activities before the opera began.

Tour guide was very interesting. Nice young lady. Very helpful getting me into the bar where Face Is On The Floor. She found safe entrance as I can't step too well without a railing.

Parking: Short walk to Teller House.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality and creativity of the food and how it was prepared. If it's going to be as expensive as it was, it should be as tasty as it was. Congratulations on the food and the server. We will be back someday.

We were in the large room next to the Bar despite reservations at ‘Rouge'? Service was fast and friendly. A large table nearby was very loud. Salmon was good, but overdone and tepid.

Great to have a fine dining option for CCO again. Overall the food was very good, but it is expensive (starts at $38per entree) and my salmon had been previously frozen. Service was VERY slow but also very friendly. If you can afford it I would recommend it.
