We love the tender juicypot roast with yummy gravy and tender carrots! The rolls are always good. The staff was very friendly.

I love any place I can get some good liver and onions. Super friendly staff, and a bright clean atmosphere.

I've been to this location several times and typically have a good experience each time with my family of 7 and/or group from church. They are very family-friendly, the staff generally are in a good mood, and often apologetic if something goes wrong.Their food the majority of the time is piping hot and their selection is a decent amount of southern favorites. Mine include the catfish, fried mushrooms (could use a pinch of salt and pepper), half chicken dinner, their jalapeño ranch and gravy. This particular day - my shrimp was over cooked and another person in my party's steak was over cooked, but everything else seemed to be good. I asked for another side of shrimp and my friend just ate through the steak. The wait isn't typically long. I think ours was about 15 minutes on a Sunday which is almost always packed. The atmosphere is what I would describe as sitting at home with family for Sunday dinner. Great conversations going and everyone chatting.Their bathrooms could use a little remodel - but they are generally clean except for an odd smell which I think is just ingrained into the tile.Overall, the experience was good considering the restaurant industry being post-pandemic (or are we still in it). You could clearly see they were understaffed - but they did their best to be accommodating.

What's not to love really. Very good food for the price? Check. Massive portions that are the cause of many a joke from a European? Yupper. Several old people glaring at you because you're still young and they are dripping with envy? Well yeah that too. It's a great place for some comfort food all terrible jokes aside. Don't worry I love old people.

We've been on a mission for a while now. It has been a long, hard, road. Finding a REAL Chicken Fried Steak in Colorado Springs is a difficult challenge. Every single place we've tried uses nasty, frozen pre-made garbage. Finally the gods answered, probably due to the sacrificial gerbil. Anyway, we discovered that Black Eyed Pea hand dips their CFS. Best one we've had in Colorado Springs. They even have jalapeno gravy!! It was awesome! I definitely recommend this place for your CFS craving. No gerbils were actually harmed. It was a guinea pig.

I hadn't eaten at a Black-eyed Pea in probably 15 years (other parts of the country they closed down). They've still got it! The catfish and appetizers are so tasty. It's like a cracker barrel with flavor if you're on the fence about it. I'd describe it as comfort food.

Senior menu is a smaller portion then you order from a regular menu that didn't set well with me like getting a kids meal. Other then that everything was fine.

I haven't been to Black-eyed Pea in a very long time. Perhaps 10+ years especially after the north location closed. We had a great experience eating here. It was quiet, the food was great, and we had the best server, Mark who was very attentive! Of course, I had to have the chicken fried chicken, the Monday special which I haven't had in years. It was very good. The peach cobbler I had for dessert was also good. I highly recommend this restaurant!

The service here is too notch. What a great experience at a new to us restaurant. I am so happy we came here. I got the Cajun grilled catfish with mashed potatoes with turkey gravy and grilled corn on the cob. It was all wonderful. The fish was flaky but juicy and tasted very fresh. With the additional rolls and corn bread we were stuffed by the end. And very happy I might add. If I make it back to Colorado I will definitely be coming here.

Black-eyed Pea is an incredible restaurant for comfort food. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is cozy. Our favorite menu item, has always been the Vegetable Plate! You get to choose 5 sides from an amazing list and with those sides you get bread! It is a huge meal at a great price!Online ordering was easy and fast! Our food was hot and ready on time! The server was friendly and double checked the order, before bagging it.

The food was great. Service was fast. I love the restaurant and always look forward to eating at this place. The businesses closed in My hometown and the food was always great. Every time I return to Colorado I look for this restaurant and the food still reminds me of moms cooking. A good set of choices on the menu for some good home cooking. You can not go wrong.

Sadly, I went by the business last week to get a to go order placed and they are now closed with a sign on the door about a new restaurant coming soon. We always thought they were 5 star.

We needed special seating because we had homework to do while we waited for soccer training and they were very accommodating! The food arrived very fast and was hot and delicious. The country music was really annoying but the staff was very friendly. We absolutely loved that they had real plants there!! We had to choose between Village Inn and Applebees and I'm glad we chose BEP! The portions were huge. My son had the chicken fried steak and chicken tenders and I had the cobb salad. Too much food. Haha.
