We usually enjoy dining at Heart of Jerusalem but decided to try a new place for a change. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We ordered two simple meals, and it took nearly an hour to arrive. In that time, we watched two couples who arrived after us get served first, while another table behind us was also waiting far too long.
As compensation for the wait, we were offered a $5 discount on our $60 bill, which felt ridiculous given how much time we lost. We ended up spending half our evening waiting and had to take our food to go. The food quality was lacking—the hummus was subpar, the chicken was extremely dry, and the tzatziki was unappetizing. At Heart of Jerusalem, we enjoy larger portions for half the price. We won’t be returning here due to the poor food and service.

I really wanted to like this place. There are SO many good reviews. Every now and then they’ll get terrible reviews like any place would have and it looks like I hit the bad roulette tonight. 😞
The Pita Crisps were not at all crisp. Listed as a “Favorite”, they were soggy, limp, oily and just not at all appetizing. I got the kabob, which had a notable lack of flavor. The rice was completely void of any seasoning. The whole dish was really just unpleasant and I was just consuming calories for sustenance at that point.
The staff is great and the one shining star. People have complained about the dated and dark decor. I thought it was quaint and pleasant. They are a bit slow but super pleasant.
The food was just such a huge disappointment. Surrounded by restaurants on every side, this is not a place to go.

It was the most horrific restaurant experience ever ! The place was dark and outdated, the server ,Tamara, was quick and very rude, service was extremely slow . Food came out after 1.15 minutes wait, with overcooked and burned beef kabobs for 3 of us , and the 4th plate of beef Gyros came out extremely dry, burned and curled up. We returned the gyros dish and Tamara threw a menu on the table to pick a different dish, with no courtesy without taking the new order , she left ! Tamara, the server , instead of apologizing for bad service and burned food, gave many excuses, like: we have two large parties in the other room and have to serve them first, the regular chef is at the owner's son wedding somewhere else and a random guy with no experience is cooking your food ! When we complained, she shouted saying " get out of restaurant".... A very nice server , Katlyn, CAME FORWARD and apologized for extremely inappropriate and unprofessional behavior of Tamara.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT WITH NO MANAGEMENT AND NO SERVICE! TAMARA IS THE WORST WAITRESS EVER I HAVE ENCOUNTERED . DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS PLACE !

We took a client for dinner and had to apologize to the client for the food quality. We chose the restaurant because it was highly rated on several sites so either one of two things... people in Colorado have no idea what good Greek/Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food is like OR something has gone wrong at the restaurant and the hired a McDonald's kid to cook “authentic” European food. From the watery flavorless humus to the terrible entrées, it was all very very bad. No one, no one, at the table finished their meal and it embarrassed me that I took clients there.
Food was good had the chicken and beef kabobs. I have a 30 min lunch I call it in early like 15 min. Food is always ready. But everytime it takes me 10 min to pay because of their out dated pos system. They have to manually put in my card info. For that 3 stars cause my 30 min lunch tends to be more like 15. Just to pay.

If it would have allow a ZERO rating, I would put that. Came in at 3pm and no one would wait on me. Literally ignored me. If you don't want to be bothered by customers, lock the front door.I will never go back.

I wasn't sure what to expect of this former Denny's by the highway off ramp, and its limited menu. Some reviews are mixed.
But I'm so glad we came here. One of the best meals I've have in the Springs in the nearly 3 years I've lived nearby.
Portions were huge. I was the only one in my party who finished my entree, and only just barely.
My mom got the Persian chicken, and it was cooked perfectly. Great flavor.
I had the lamb tangine, and it was fantastic. Very balanced and delicious in every bite.
The gyros were a bit ordinary, but that is the norm around here, and can be forgiven.
Excellent service. Caitlyn was a fantastic waitress.
I don't understand why some reviews complain about the decor. It's an old Denny's that they magically turned into a restaurant that looks like it's been here for 50 years. Not everything has to be flashy and modern, Colorado Springs.
I will return here again for sure. Wish there were more places like this nearby.
