Perhaps I prefer BBQ from Texas or Kansas City and don’t know “southern” BBQ that well; I missed the smoky flavor here. The BBQ Brisket Burnt Ends, a dish I always try when I see it on the menu, were lovely and moist, but they missed a lot of the smoke flavor and bark I expected. The BBQ ribs, which appear to be the specialty here, were tender and fell off the bone. I once again missed any smoke flavor. I prefer St. Louis ribs to baby back ribs and appreciate that this place serves the bigger, meatier bones. And with the two BBQ sauces they offer, this helped. Both sauces were nice; the sweet and spicy was my preference, although not spicy, in my opinion. The side of green beans with bacon and onion was terrific, and this is a BBQ side I wasn’t familiar with, but I really enjoyed it. The BBQ beans were OK, nothing special, but solid. My wife had a catfish sandwich, which she enjoyed. The fish was delicious, but the bun was a bit heavy in the overall balance of the sandwich. The service was excellent, and the restaurant is very dog-friendly with nice outside seating. This restaurant has much better BBQ than, say, Rudy’s nearby, but I can’t say I was blown away. It is worth trying, and if I’m just off base with my preference for BBQ (which does differ from region to region), take that into account.

Great bbq food. I had a pulled chicken sandwich with a side of coleslaw and red beans and rice. My wife had brisket with potato salad. Healthy portions and tasty food. Waitress was great and we got out food quickly. Had a backyard vibe as we are under a large awning. Right on the main street and easy to get to.

Front Range Barbeque is a fantastic BBQ restaurant in Old Colorado Springs. Cozy, comfortable and welcoming, this place has the best BBQ around. Big selection of everything from catfish to brisket, with lots of delicious sides and desserts. Great selection of craft beer, ciders and liquor. Top notch service.

Highly recommend

I had the pleasure of working with Front Range BBQ's catering team over the weekend at a wedding at Hillside Gardens. What an awesome crew! From start to finish, they were incredibly professional, helpful, and just pleasant to be around! They worked closely with me to insure we stayed on the timeline. They were always offering to help out, and made dinner service go incredibly smooth.
The food was absolutely delicious, and guests raved all night. They made sure that all dietary needs were followed and special meals were served to the appropriate guests.
I look forward to working with them in the future!

Don't go to Rudy's. Go here. I had the pulled chicken and even without sauce, it was phenomenal. The fries are real cut fries, not frozen ones.

Service was great and atmosphere was great. Don't know what else to say, get some springs BBQ.

The atmosphere was nice. Staff was friendly the service was a little slow but that was understandable they were very busy. The food was very bland with no seasoning. We wouldn't eat here again.

We ate here over the weekend while in town and we all really enjoyed the food here. The portion sizes were large and good value. They had a good selection of beers to choose from as well and the decor inside is really cool. If you are hungry for good BBQ in the area this is a must stop.
