The food and service were good. The only thing to note is it is a small restaurant, not a lot of tables. Overall a good experience and I would recommend them.

Food is solidly good every single time. I usually get the lamb kebab and the portions are so big there's always some left over. Tonight I was lucky enough to have a great conversation with the owner, Hussein Abukhdeir and left with a whopping six free servings of baklava. He is a very intelligent and nice man and I love being able to support the business of a local Palestinian American.

First time I've never tipped a waitress. She gave bad vibes the entire time and then she took our order and my husband looked at her and told her he wanted the ultimate gyro and I ordered a chickofol along with the kids food and app. Our food came out and we thought my husband's sandwich was just running behind. Turns out she didn't hear him order anything and never wrote anything down ? Even though she looked at him as he said his order. I understand it was a mistake but the way she showed me the ticket with the snarky attitude and no care was a slap in the face. Not sure if she was hung over from new years still or just always like that. Zero concern about it. Even my kids heard him order. Really upset about it because we love heart of Jerusalem. We drive all the way from Canon city just to come there. I won't be coming back to that location.

They lie to you about food allergies in their food. Nothing like leaving a restaurant without eating more than one bite just to go to the ER. They should be shut down

Absolutely wonderful surprise! Most of these are fast food chain feeling, but this one has table service and extremely well decorated and delicious dishes. This has been put on our atbleast monthly list of places to go...!
Wheelchair accessibility: 2 spots right outside the door. Be aware that on the left side of the building the parking lot slopes bad and will be hard to get to the level sidewalk.

Service was really slow, but it appeared they were short staffed about an hour and a half before closing so they get a pass because the food was pretty good. The falafels are heart shaped, so that was pretty neat.

This place was disappointing. If you're hoping for authentic cuisine, this is not it. However, it's relatively approachable for those that want something americanized. I'll start off with the positives:
-The place is clean and the seating is organized.
-The service provided was typically prompt.
Now the negatives:
-I started off with Turkish coffee. It was overbearingly sweet. They don't serve it with sugar to let you have control over sweetness, nor do they ask you how you'd like it.
-I chose the za'atar pita as my appetizer, with a side of their 'magic' sauce and baba ganoush. Their pita bread is incredibly gimmicky. It served no purpose, whether to be an appetizer or as part of an entree, other than being a salty oil sponge. If you're looking for fresh and poofy pita bread, you're out of luck. Additionally, I'm amazed this establishment is bold enough to call *that* baba ganoush. It was some mystery over processed product that lacks any connection to real baba ganoush. It felt disrespectful if anything. Their 'magic sauce' was inoffensive tasting but it felt like a terrible imitator of traditional toum.
-I decided on their lamb kabob as the entree. I attempted to order the lamb as medium rare, but this place has a house rule of cooking everything all the way through. Low n' behold, the lamb came out as dried pucks of meat. They overload the plate with so many middling accoutrements that you'd almost not notice the distinct lack of protein. If there's one selling point in this, the portions for everything except the protein were decent.
Support establishments that have pride and respect for the food and culture. This is not it.
Loved the food, just do not order online if your intention is to dine in. I ordered ahead to save time but I was quickly informed that Heart of Jerusalem doesn’t let mobile orders dine in. I wasn’t able to enjoy the atmosphere since I had to leave after getting my food. I probably would’ve ordered more had I been allowed to stay. They were respectful and when a policy or rule is in place it’s typically for a reason.
Side note: I also added something to my order once I got there so was unsure how that also counted as a mobile order when I was in person lol.

So good that I had to come back. This time I tried the hummus bowl and Turkish coffee. Another fabulous and delicious meal.
