Such a great theatre. Love this place. Independent theatre with a fantastic vibe. I just love coming here to watch movies. Highly recommend this theatre more so than the commercial, corporate bland theatre that has absolutely no personality. I keep coming back!!

Free classic movies in the lounge. Saw Battleship Potemkin on a big screen while enjoying a great glass of wine. Highly recommend.

I've been in here many times, and enjoyed. Last time though, I was staying at the Antlers hotel, very close by, and went in just to get popcorn. The manager or whoever (a guy with a ponytail) said that popcorn was for theater attendees only. Wouldn't hear us out at all, even though every movie had already started. Great business sense. Never want to go back here now.

Although the seats aren't the most comfortable...the atmosphere is old school theatre and the staff is friendly and professional. And, how about a nice glass of white wine to go along with the fresh popped, real buttered popcorn!?!? A theater goers dream. Kimball's always has the best small budget independent films around town... heading out this weekend!

Loves the movies here and have gone here for many years. I was hoping they would have used COVID time to actually do a deep clean and spiff things up a bit - paint a little, clean and replace chairs, etc. No. It's filthy actually. Very unnecessary and sad.

I was in Colorado Springs for a work trip and had lots of down time in the evenings. Too bad I found this little gem on the second to the last night I was here- I would have seen the other two movies!! This is a very unique theatre - very personable and old school and you can feel the passion of the theater from the owner! Everything is very reasonably priced from ticket price to snacks to alcohol sold right there!! Go check it out!!

Love the staff here and being local. I give five stars just because of that and supporting the local business. The seats are not your new "norm" so don't expect recliners, but being downtown and in the area is so worth it. I really hope this theater stays around because they've been there since I can remember and it's a classic.

I appreciate that Kimball's brings non-mainstream movies to COS, but the re-named Peak Theater wasn't top-tier in the day, and it is far from being a good theater today. Seats were not good, felt like they needed to recline just an inch or so more. Sound system seemed barely adequate and the screen itself was not much bigger than a good home theater system. Home systems are smaller, but the seating is closer so the effective size of the screen seems more adequate. They apparently lack the systems or skills to properly manage ambient lighting before and after the show. Quite bright when we walked in, which was okay, but it went to too dark while the teasers and pre-show started so that late joiners couldn't find seats. Surprised that some didn't fall flat on their collective faces. Likewise, lights came up full during the credits and there was actually program rolling behind the credits that was worth watching. So I'm glad Kimball's exists for the shows they bring to town, but I probably won't be patronizing them. I'll just put the interesting stuff on my Netflix list and wait to enjoy on my modest home theater.

First time visit here. Saw Echo In the Canyon. This is a far cry from your chain movie theaters. An original experience you should have at least one time especially if you enjoy limited release or independent films although they have new release blockbusters here too. Very iconic old building. Awesome touches to make the inside clean while being upscale and match the overall age of the building itself. The snacks are reasonable-popcorn delicious. There is a nice wine bar inside. The staff was very nice. There were two downsides-my mother in law gets winded easily, the theater this was showing in was upstairs which was difficult on here-the other issue was the lack of the rise in the seating. All of the seats are flat and my mother in law is short so we kept having to move so she could see when taller people sat in front of her. All in all a positive experience and we will be back.

I loved this movie theater! The environment gives you an old movie theater vibe, which makes sense considering that the theater is close to 100 years old! There is a bar where you can buy alcoholic drinks, and of course a concessions stand. Usually they only show 3 movies at a time. During my visit it was right before the Academy Awards so they were showing critically acclaimed movies (I saw The Favourite while I was there) and they also offered Oscar's ballots for predictions! Since the movie theater is so old, the theaters themselves are small and the seats are all at the same level of height, so it might be better to get their early to figure out your seating preference. Also, it should be important to mention that the theaters are upstairs, and I'm not quite sure if there is handicap accessibility, but I would recommend calling ahead if you do need assistance. Although this isn't your regular movie theater experience, and it's not state of the art (I'm from Las Vegas, NV, so our movie theaters are pretty updated) I loved the experience and the retro feel of the place! I would love to visit again!

This theater automatically gets five stars because of the movies it shows: those small, but GOOD, independent films nobody else does. It's a small theater. In fact, when I first walked in, I thought my screen at home might be bigger than theirs. The soft, cushioned seats are laid out well, though, with cup holders. They have a full bar in the lobby, stocked with not just beer and wine, but a full selection of alcohol, at reasonable prices, including drink specials. A couple of down sides: They only have Pepsi products. And, their cups are not very big. Even their straws are thin (typical of the Pepsi brand.. I'm not sure why Pepsi doesn't want people drinking big 44 ounce cups of their beverages with big, fat straws). Likewise, the bags of popcorn are not very big, either. It tasted good, though. The quality of the movie screen was top-notch, like what you'd expect in the newest big, theater-chain megaplexes. Sound, too. This is a movie theater with character, and I can't wait to come back!

I love this theater!! Not only are there great indie film offerings, but this theater has a certain charm that keeps me coming back. The beer and wine bar doesn't hurt either! They offer a great variety of adult beverages to sip. Located in the heart of downtown COS, next to Josh and Johns Ice cream and La Baguette, Kimball's is the perfect spot for a date night. Eat dinner next door, go to Kimball's to see a film and grab some ice cream afterward. If you're looking for reclining chairs, Marvel movies and all the bells and whistles...this isn't the spot for you. And that's okay! BUT if you love the charm of old buildings and enjoy a unique, one of a kind viewing experience. And you believe in seeing films that are thought provoking and interesting...this is for you! This theater is such a pleasure to have in COS! Plus, I think many a Colorado College student benefits from working the concessions. It's great! Truly enjoyable.

Great movie theater, smaller theaters, more intimate, full bar. Enjoy taking a nice glass of good wine into movie.
