I have been debating on posting this because I don't want to come across as mean, but if owners don't know they can't fix right? This was my first time at this cute hole in the wall restaurant with seven other people. Our waitress was very nice very quick to get our drink order and all of our appetizers I would say six of us ordered at least two rolls a piece. Naturally, we assume that it's going to take them anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes to make all the sushi. Unfortunately, they only had one sushi chef and it took him an hour and a half to make these rolls. Now the sushi was really good but we were really close to walking out and finding a fast food somewhere. The chef had just finished up a big party when we walked in but seeing that we were a big party I wish someone would have jumped in to help out.

Gem that’s in the cut! Definitely some of the freshest sushi I’ve had in Colorado Springs. They gave us soup (miso) and salad with our selection of sushi. I also had the plum sake (very warm delicious) which went well with my meal came down super smooth! Definitely will be back again for another bite.

We live in old Colorado city so we stumbled upon Kohnami by chance this past Saturday while up north. What a delightful hidden gem! They have about 8 or 9 tables and the restaurant was about half filled when we arrived. They had a little fire going on the TV which nice and cozy ^_^I saw some other reviews mention service but our service was fantastic! Our miso and salads were delivered timely and our food was out almost right after we finished the salad.We took a lot of time ordering because they have a lot of special rolls and we were intrigued by so many! We ended up with nigiri (salmon and tuna), tuna and avocado (this wasn’t on the menu but they made it for us) and the Pikes Peak deep fries roll.The salmon nigiri was my favorite bite of the night and delicious and I wish we had ordered 2! The pikes peak was good - flavor + sauces +fried texture was really good - a little difficult to eat the last piece because it was so big but we made it through! ?The avocado in the tuna and avocado was creamy and perfect texture against the tuna.All in all we would absolutely return. The table next to us got the sashimi platter brought out just as we were leaving and it was so beautifully presented! We will absolutely be getting that next time
