I’ve been searching for some soul food since I got to FT Carson, and this place fills me up and taste amazing.
Excellent portion sizes, mac and cheese is to die for. My favourite dinner spot
4 stars because the fried Food is cooked fresh, so the wait is a little long which unfortunately loses a star.. Overall it's a really good place to eat. I've been a few times and ordered the catfish and the chicken wings...very good. The fried cabbage is a must have! It was so delicious. The pricing is affordable. But if you are in a big hurry, I would avoid lunchtime here...because again the wait can be a little long and that's the biggest downfall. However, it is worth the wait.
Delicious pork chop, tender and juicy! Love the combination of Asian and African decor inside the restaurant.
Great food the catfish was amazing the staff are friendly and the price was right glad to stop in a get some great food
Large serving sizes, the sweet tea is premade and not true southern tea. ðŸ˜
I got the ribs and chicken special, good price and the ribs were the best I have ever had!
I love this place for soul food! The greens and Mac and cheese are the best in the city, hands down! And the ribs fall off the bone!
Mayos used to be really good for me and my Husband about a year ago but lately the taste in food has been on major decline. I used to come every Friday for the Gumbo but the last Fridays that I gave it a shot, it was painfully salty. Also, they don't carry collard greens anymore...supposedly because of increase in price. Cabbage is supposed to be the substitute and I gave it a try but it was sweet cabbage! Gross. The limited openings is already inconvenient enough for loyal customers.
This place is the real deal! Soul food for the soul. Great customer service!

Not good at all, We are so disappointed. We ordered a seafood gumbo, but I couldn't find any seafood in my Gumbo??? Sweet potato? Straight from the can taste. Mac and cheese is taste less. Chicken wings... Better eat at Popeye's, just saying.
Not as great as I thought it would be. I was super excited to try this place and even took my lunch 2 hours later so I could catch the business while it was open. I was really disappointed that they didn't have collard greens when it's posted on the menu. I ordered fish and bbq chicken. Once I got back to work I was extremely disappointed to find that I didn't get any fish but regular fried chicken instead. And to top it off the food isn't that great. Mac and cheese isn't as flavored as I liked and the corn bread is kinda dry. The yams were great. Not a restaurant that I plan to go out of my way to make it to again.
I have been super excited to try this place since I heard of it. The first thing I'll say though is that I haven't gotten the chance to try the food. Their hours are inconvenient for anyone who works a regular day job, which I'm sure is alienating a lot of potential customers. The second thing I'd like to address is the customer service. My husband wanted to surprise me the other day, after getting the chance to finally hit the right time frame for this place. So he decided on take out and had just enough time to pick it up before coming to pick me up. Upon calling Mayo's and asking if he could place an order, the person on the other line said no, and that was it. No apologies, no explanations, and no politeness. I'm really disappointed for a lot of reasons here.
Don't say you have catfish when you don't. They advertise fish and that's exactly what it is an unknown name fish. It was good but I asked for and you said you had catfish.
I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese and steamed cabbage. It was over cooked and very salty. I ordered peach cobbler and it tasted like apple crisp....and very soggy. I expected better.
