This is exactly what I needed to find today!!!! Coming from Florida, I was craving that true island-inspired, laid-back kava spot that feels like home, and Ohana Kava Bar delivered exactly what I was looking for. The family vibe is personified here—warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring from the moment you walk in.
The space itself is so calm and chill, with a super good welcoming feeling that wraps around you right away. The people are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, always ready to guide you through the options. Carli was awesome—she gave great recommendations and was an absolute pleasure to have met. Great conversations and recommendations around town.
We were just passing through, but we'll definitely be back soon. The kava and teas are top tier, highest quality you can tell the owners truly care about every detail. The menu is amazing, with so many different offerings to explore. One standout was the Taste Paste—such a cool, unique thing I'd never heard of or seen before, and definitely worth checking out.
Walking in, the stress just melts away. The place smells amazing—not like heavy incense or anything overly hippie, but comforting and homey. It's like stepping into Grandma's farm with the windows wide open, or that fresh breeze on a beach at sunrise, gentle and invigorating all at once.

This kind of spot needs to be part of more people's weekly routines here in Colorado. Screw Starbucks—come here instead. If you work from home or remote, bring your laptop and settle in; it's the perfect chill environment to focus and unwind without the usual coffee shop chaos.

What caught my attention to Ohana kava bar on Academy Boulevard was the cbd drinks/coffee. I walked into the bar one evening ready for a coffee with CBD after a long stressful week. I met Carli!! She was so welcoming and made me feel so comfortable. I wanted to sit and relax but had other plans. Honestly if I knew about the establishment before I would have planned to stay for awhile. Carli sure did know her stuff and explained the different types of drinks and the benefits to a newbie😁 She was honest in the flavor of the types of drinks and warning of any that may taste like “dirty water”. After hearing the benefits of drinking the different Kava drinks, I would not mind drinking dirty water. She made the drinks with a touch of love!! I trusted her in making my coffee and flavoring it. It was really good. I can’t wait to come back to the bar again to relax and enjoy a drink with good company. Thank you Carli for such a great time for our first experience even if we took it to go. Thank you for explaining the benefits of the different options there and your time! See you soon I hope!

Dolma is a great bartender! I used to go to the downtown location a lot in 2018 and I’ll
be coming back a lot more! I forgot how fun it is here

I usually like this place. Bar tender was preoccupied with his game. I wasn't even able to use any points or anything, either.
