OMG, delicious! I moved here 4 years ago from New York City and didn't think I would find good Dominican or Puertorican food. Pedacito Boricua didn't disappoint. Que Rico! We had Cuban sandwiches, chicharon de pollo, arroz blanco ensalad, and tostones. And I couldn't leave without my cafecito, and templeque.

The first time I came here (late January) the food was really really good and tasted like how authentic PR food should taste like. The second time I came (about a week ago) it was not good. The rice had no flavor and neither did the habichuelas. The tripleta was very dry too. I’m not sure if it was an off day or what, but I was really disappointed the second time and now I’m not so sure I’ll return. I will say the empanadillas were really good and made fresh.

Giving the food one star. I’m not sure if there was a different cook today. But all of my food was not good. I was excited to try I saw all the pictures from 2 months ago. But the food didn’t look like it was prepared from the same cook two months ago. Not sure if they hired someone new. But I ordered white rice and beans with pernil. And arroz con gandules with baked chicken. Disappointed to say the white rice was VERY undercooked/raw. It was very crunchy. And the beans were very very watery. And had no flavor. It was just beans and diced up pieces of ham. No cilantro, no actual bean juice with seasoning and flavor. The arroz con gandules was very orange they used a lot of sazon for color but no flavor.? And again rice was not cooked all the way through. It tasted very burnt. I am Puerto Rican and am disappointed this is how my cultures food was represented. Please do better. I really wanted to like the food but it was a disgrace.

We’ve been on the hunt for good Caribbean Hispanic food and last year at the Hispanic festival we tried them and learned they’d be opening a restaurant. Their food was authentic, fresh, and plentiful. The service was great and very personal. Our only regret is not getting there earlier in the day because the morning rush depleted some goods we were looking forward to. No problem because we’ll definitely be waking up early to order.

Pretty good for being one of two Puerto Rican restaurants in the springs. They’re new and getting into the groove of things so I’m excited to see what new dishes or recipes they’ll be having in the future.

I'm Boricua and live in Pueblo, CO. On my way home from Denver last Tuesday, my wife Carmen and I decided to give this new restaurant a try. (She heard about it in Univision) I was hesitant since I've been disappointed with most of the restaurants in Denver and Colorado Springs (also many in Orlando, FL, and Tampa, FL) that falsely advertise "genuine Puerto Rican food." Unfortunately, Pueblo has no Puerto Rican restaurants. I thought that an afternoon breakfast would be a good experience since it was after 1 p.m. OMG-were we surprised!!! This restaurant goes beyond breakfast. What we discovered was true, genuine, Boricua food.We both ordered rice and beans: My wife's entrée was with bistec empanado and I with ropa vieja. We also ordered beef empanadas as appetizers and Tembeleque for dessert. The meals included tostontes and platanos amarillos. For drinks, my wife ordered Old Colony Grape soda and I Old Colony Pineapple soda. What a delight! It had been years since I've had pink beans with patita de cerdo. I could taste the wonderful Puerto Rican sofrito taste that defines our food. Most Puerto Rican restaurants basically offer beans in a watery sauce that has no Puerto Rican taste or consistency, but merely garlic, onions, and and a bit of potato. BUT not Pedacito Boricua. The texture of the sauce was what we were used to when we lived in Puerto Rico. My wife received two good, well-seasoned Caribbean style pieces of breaded steak; and I received more meat than expected. (Yes, we had left overs for dinner.) The tembleque was pure delight! All that was lacking was the background Puerto Rican salsa music or Puerto Rican jibarito music to complement Pedacito's Puerto Rican's decor and environment.I truly and highly recommend this new restaurant. I'll most likely, go there when I'm in the area, or when I invite my family in Pueblo. The cost is more than reasonable, and the staff are polite, friendly, and competent. I'm sure Pedacito Boricua will be able to accommodate us in their wonderful location.

They failed in sweets. I ordered a tres leches and received a flank steak. I asked for a piece of cake assuming I was Puerto Rican and received a hard, tasteless muffin. I also ordered an Oreo frappé that tasted like chocolate milk with excess whipped cream. I understand that it is a new business but if they are going to sell Puerto Rican sweets, they should make them well and sell what I choose and not what they choose for me. The order was placed through the door dash application because if I'm not mistaken, I went on December 19 and I was waiting for about 5 minutes and the girl behind the counter was sitting with the phone and with her hair all over her face as if not was there and I tried door dash but I received what was not. Lastly I ordered a meat empanadilla and I received it with meat and cheese but it was good.

Food was delicious. Everything you’re looking for and expecting from a puertorican cafe. The bread was so fresh and delicious it was like biting into a piece of heaven. The Empanadillas (turnovers) were delicious, and niceley stuffed, giving you a juicy and meaty bite every time. The staff was very kind and respectful. Lively experience, 10 out of 10 recommend.Kid-friendliness: Staff is very caring and interactive with children, creating an environment that makes everyone comfortable.
