Pepper Tree Restaurant

This is a great place to celebrate a special event. The ambience is quiet and relaxed. Waitstaff are very friendly but not intruding. The food was delicious!

We had the Pepper Steak and the Steak Diane. Both were excellent and boasted of flavor. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Had a smoke maple old fashioned, it was delicious, along with a pepper steak, baked potato and house salad. The mango chutney with the pepper steak is wonderful, can't recommend it enough. Service is always great, atmosphere is welcoming, and they remodeled the interior a little since the last time I was in.

Everything from service to food was perfect! Everytime I am in Colorado Springs I don't miss a chance to have dinner here. Always one of my favorites

Excellent experience. Service was fantastic from the entire team and food was delicious. Drinks, apps, entrees, and desserts—nothing we didn't love! Highly recommend any of their menu items cooked tableside.

Service was not up to par for this quality of restaurant. Drinks not refilled, up charge on side not mentioned, no offer for 2nd cocktail etc. People next time us wearing shorts,flip flops and cap which he wore thru dinner while some wore jackets. No dress code.

Excellent choice for fine dining. Reservations are advised, especially for Friday or Saturday.

Maybe my favorite restaurant in the Springs! The food & service are always amazing. I've been here multiple times & I've never had a steak not cooked correctly or any issue whatsoever. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice as well. Small & intimate with a nice night view of the city lights. Highly recommend!

My wife and I recently went to The Pepper Tree to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We've been there three times before, and each visit had been excellent, which is why we chose it again for such a special occasion.

Unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment. Both of our steaks were undercooked significantly, which is not what we’ve come to expect from a place that prides itself on tableside preparation and attention to detail. The staff did apologize and offered a discount on the meal, which we appreciated, but it didn’t quite make up for the letdown—especially since we had been looking forward to this dinner for weeks.

The Pepper Tree has always been a go-to for us when we wanted a fine dining experience, but after this, we’ll probably take a break from coming back for a while. It’s disappointing to see a place we’ve loved miss the mark on such an important night.

I first went to The Pepper Tree for my 21st birthday! It has been my standard for what I compare an excellent steak to even though I just returned there at age 54 tonight for our anniversary! It was absolutely perfect and everything was just as exceptional as I have remembered for so many years! The service was outstanding and everything from our appetizer, salad, steaks, to dessert was outstanding! I will always recommend this historic restaurant that was one of the first of its kind, a fine dining steak restaurant that was not the Broadmoor, to open in the springs over 40 years ago! Definitely make reservations and be prepared to go there with a healthy appetite as you will want to clean all of your plates! Thank you Pepper Tree and staff for showing my husband why I talk about you all of the time. This time I won’t wait 30 plus years to return!

It was a great experience to see them cook the steak in front of the customers! Although we didn’t order the specialty we definitely enjoyed the ambience and romantic vibe of the place … for sure we will come back

My husband and I went here for our first anniversary and we loved it! The food and atmosphere are both wonderful. It’s a small, intimate space which makes it feel more special for a night out. Our reservation was close to closing and while the servers themselves were very kind, we did feel that they were less attentive during the meal and sat for a while without being asked about drink refills and such. However, this was a small detail and our overall experience was great for our first anniversary!

The food was so bad I didn’t even take a photo of it. I had Jerusalem lamb or something along those lines. The sauces were all savory or spicy, and I thought for a meat as salty as the one they served me, they should have some sweet sauce to cut all the acidity.

The drinks were so bad! My husband wanted to try their beetroot juice and the server said it was sweet but when she brought it, it was bitter. He couldn’t even drink it. Why say something is sweet when it isn’t?

That to say, service was terrible. I have never once seen waitresses as inattentive and unmotivated as the ones here. I can’t really speak to the ambience because I think they were trying to go for a cozy feel but the attitudes of the servers take away from the warmth that one should experience.

I will never dine here again!

I wish I could give 6 stars!!! This place is incredible! They cook tableside while cracking jokes. The filet came out perfectly tender. Deliciously and uniquely seasoned. I was skeptical about the mango chutney on steak, but it worked so well.

First time so maybe it was because we didn't ask, but for a 5pm reservation, we thought we'd get a view. Otherwise everything was exceptional. Decor is a little dated but amazing food and service.
