Enjoyed breakfast here on a weekend. Place was busy, but a short wait for a table. Everyone we encountered was friendly, food was great, and the bill was super reasonable for what you get. Terrific red and green Chile. Looking forward to coming back.

As with all places, Rudy's Hidaway has its good and bad, but my wife and I agree that it's worth going again for a second impression.Vibe: We have several places around Texas that we are fond of, and as far as the atmosphere goes, we felt right at home with the mom and pop Mexican decor. It felt like one of the places we love in Austin.Service: Service was severely lacking. Although there were 3 or 4 staff running in and out of the alcove we were sitting in, it still took 10 minutes to get menus, and another 5 or so to give a second drink order. All in all, it was 20 minutes to actually receive a cup of coffee and a tea. The food order and delivery timing were much better after that.Food: While my wife loved her breakfast nachos, I was less than thrilled about my chorizo scramble. Her nachos were actually VERY FLAVORFUL. We were both impressed and recommend them highly. As far as the chorizo scramble. They were severely lacking, to say the least. The chorizo was probably the best I've had in a long while (and there was plenty of it), but other than the chorizo scrambled eggs, and hash browns there was nothing else on the plate. It needed some pico, beans (shocked they weren't there), and maybe some sour cream or avacado to break up the grease on grease of the eggs and potatoes. If not for my food, I'd have given a 4th star, but the haphazard service would still have been an issue. We both decided to give it another go, so an update might be in order.Yes, we do recommend the place for breakfast, but be aware of the shortcomings.

Excellent Mexican food in a family-run restaurant that's also an excellent value. We haven't had a bad meal in all the years we've been eating here. There are great lunch deals, and their refried beans are the real thing. When the weather is warm have a margarita on their deck, with amazing views of the mountains. They have great breakfasts, too.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to the front door.

Wasn't open even though Google said it was open, apparently they close every year from December 18th to Jan 4th according to a note on the door. Wasted my time driving here ? , owners please ? update your business hours & days of operation on your Google store front.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Springs. Always 100% consistent. Good food and friendly family service with a large dining room that always has tables available. Prices are very fair, especially for breakfast, and the quality is never compromised. I highly recommend this place to all. Beware the steep driveway in active snow and ice if you do not have 4x4.

Our favorite place to go for Sunday morning breakfast! We host our Christmas brunch here every year.

Every time I come to the Springs I visit Rudy's. One of my friends who loves spicy food introduced me to it years ago and I've come here ever since. They have a lot of great dishes, but my favorite is the El Rey burrito, which has polish sausage, potatoes, eggs, cheese, green chili...yeah, all good stuff, and a nice burn. Service is always good and it's a friendly, relaxed place. It's off the beaten path but packed with locals, one of the ways you know it's good.
