My daughter took me to eat on December 24 for my birthday. We had been coming to this restaurant for almost 3 years, i always bring my family and friends here to eat, They know me when I come in the door with my family or friends. I had rdered the chicken & veggies combo mea l for dinner. I was very disappointed. The chicken was fatty and mushy. It did not have the same texture as chicken. There were very few vegetables and the portion was like a lunch meal. I complained to the manager "Tammy" about the meat being fatty and too mushy soft. Tammy stayed that it was supposed to be soft and she would mention it too the cook. She seemed to disregard my complaint. She brought over the bill & takout boxes. No appology, i'm sorry you didn't enjoy your meal, offer a substitute meal or take the meal off our table. Saddly I won't be retuning to this restaurant with my family or friends....they lost a good paying customer due to the lack of concern and the quality of the meal I received!

The people who work here are sweet and nice. Tbis is an ownership issue. Bad owners. Very bad owners.

Asked about the 2%. Said it would not be an up charge then charged it. They fixed this in the end.

The portion size is half that of Xangs Kitchen at stetson Hills, and the price here is higher than Xangs. $15 for "lunch special" and its tini portions. Soup cup is half the size. Just try and compare.

This is a rip off business.

It's this nickle and diming that is criminal, and businesses should not be allowed to vary the payments after quoted price.

Just don't shop here

It is SUPER OVER PRICED AS WELL.

First time eating here. We celebrated my husband 65th. Stephanie our server was awesome and super sweet! We will definitely come back. Must have their crispy duck again.

The service was great, the server and host were very friendly and on top of it. The restaurant was quite deserted, which is odd on a Friday night. I can see why. The food was not good at all. Let’s start with the positives. My friend and I got the dumpling appetizer, which was fine. They were kind of cold, but the sauce they came with was fine. I got the wonton soup, which I can say was the best part of the meal. Now the negatives: our mains (sweet & sour chicken, teriyaki chicken, and beef chow mein). My friend said the orange chicken tastes positively disgusting, and my teriyaki chicken tasted more like strange barbecue than anything else. The chow mein was fine, but the beef was very salty. Also, we got pretty meager sides of rice to go with our large plates of food. Honestly, I hate to give this place such a bad review because the service was very good. But, bad food is bad food.

Great place. Super food and amazing service (albeit we were there at a slow period). I had read in another review that they had a separate vegan menu. When we went in, I asked about plant based options and the very knowledgeable gentleman (probably owner or manager) made some suggestions. They he said he would go get the vegan menu. He couldn’t find it, so we just ordered what he recommended. It was really a great experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place.

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. vegetables were cooked to a mush and the sauce was disgusting. I got tofu and it was still cold in the middle, and the “fried rice” was just brown rice with a few bits of egg tossed in it. It was so gross I threw it away, even though I was really hungry.

Ordered the medium Hot and Spicy Beef. They should rename this dish the hot and spicy onion. Lack of meat in this dish will have me exploring other options for takeout.

I was super excited to try Shanghai-La East after seeing they had just won Best of Springs 2024, We ordered food for take out since we are about 5 minutes from this location. I personally got the teriyaki chicken dinner combo with egg drop soup and a pu pu platter. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. My friend who had also ordered the egg drop soup mentioned peas had been added to it. I investigated my own soup and found not only peas but carrots too. I ignored them and tasted the soup, surely expecting a richly flavorful soup as one would expect. Bland. The soup was an underwhelming mess and extra added ingredients to make up for its lack of seasoning. I moved on to my teriyaki chicken. I can easily make this but I wanted try Shanghai-La’s as it’s a staple and hard to mess up teriyaki chicken. Again, bland. The dish lacked seasoning that gave it a rich umami flavor. I shook my head with disappointment. I couldn’t eat more than 2 pieces without feeling sad about the money I wasted. I tried the fried rice and confirmed my suspicion that everything I ordered was grossly under seasoned. I took bites of several items of the pu pu plater. The meat on the stick is hard to mess up but it was on the drier side, I still ate the whole thing as I was starving at this point. I took one bite of the eggrolls which left me wanting. The only redeeming part of the meal was the fried shrimp which I didn’t finish eating. I confirmed my disappointment with 3 other friends who had ordered meals - genuine lack of seasoning and flavors.

I do not understand how this restaurant earned Best of Springs 2024 when I could have googled any other Chinese food restaurant and received a much superior succulent Chinese meal. Maybe COS in general has bland tastes, maybe it was an off night, but I doubt it. This has been one of the most disappointing food experiences in my 34 years of life. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant, nor would I recommend it.

We literally walked less than 30 minutes before closing on a Sunday and everyone was so nice and accommodating. We apologized for it and they were very attentive. They even offered to put the Copa football championship game on the TV for me. I highly recommend this place for the great food and even better food.

Not impressed. Told my order will be done 15 minutes. Came out in 40 minutes. They kept telling me, " finishing up 1 or 2 thing" heard this multiple times. Was ready to ask for a refund, and order came out. I know of at least 3 chinese restaurants with better service and food. I will go there, definitely not here.

Yummy food & good service. We always go here with the whole family for special dinners. Go to faves are the rangoons, egg drop soup, hot tea, and shrimp lo mein.
