Been here twice now and the food and service is excellent, but it is so loud inside the restaurant that it is impossible to have a normal conversation without almost yelling at one another. They really need to invest in some sound absorption tiles on the walls and ceiling because it really ruins the atmosphere.

The coconut shrimp soup is what they are known for but in my opinion is overrated. That being said, its still not bad and I love the sandwiches. Service is always good and the atmosphere is on point. It is a bit loud inside, so sit outside if you want to converse. Very very reasonable prices. Also a great staging point to have dinner and then explore and walk downtown.

Oh my god this place is amazing! Food was delicious. Definitely try the spicy coconut shrimp soup. Everyone was friendly and the outdoor seating was so cute!!

We recently visited Shuga’s in Colorado Springs for the first time as a party of three, and there were definitely some highlights. My wife really enjoyed the gazpacho soup and salmon bruschetta — both were fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The atmosphere was loud, but at least our server was polite and responsive.
Unfortunately, the rest of our experience didn’t quite meet expectations. We ordered three sandwiches — the Cao Boi, Montreal Village, and Cuban Mojo. While they were plated simply, all three were overwhelmingly salty. One of us tried to scrape salt off the bread just to make it edible, and another chose not to finish theirs at all. I mentioned the issue to our server, who said she would inform the kitchen, but we didn’t hear anything further.
Additionally, I ordered the Brazilian shrimp cilantro coconut soup without the shrimp, which left me with little more than a spicy coconut broth, a few cilantro leaves, and some sesame seeds — not quite the soup dish I had hoped for.
Because we dropped around $60 for this dinner, unless someone from Shuga’s reaches out to us personally to make this right, it’s unlikely we’ll be returning.

This place is a 10/10. I’m visiting from Houston Tx. If you know Houston, you know we have great food. This met all of my criteria: unique beverages alcoholic and non, fresh content menu and a killer atmosphere.
Took about 5 min to be acknowledged. It was really busy but it still doesn't take a lot to say hi or we'll be with you. Delicious food. Great flavors.
