Not the best fish and chips in town, but definitely good. Nice large portions of fish, tasty chips. I had the haddock and compared it to the regular white fish and it definitely had a creamier, richer quality. The prices are a tad high and there is a LOT of unused space that makes the place feel a bit forlorn. Also, they didn't mark our orders so when we got it home it was a task to figure out which fish was which (you're welcome), an issue that could have been readily avoided with a judiciously-applied Sharpie.Still, I enjoyed it, and I may well eat there again...
We were terribly disappointed. I can’t think of anything good to say about this place. What decor there is, is cheap and unattractive. The prices were high for what you get. The fish and chips were extremely greasy and not very tasty. The coleslaw was OK. We will not be going back.
Nice quiet little spot. Fish and chips were fantastic. Service was also great, staff was very friendly. The fountain drink station was sticky, but given how great the food was I would not take any stars off. Bathroom was also clean. Cool little selection of UK items in the side shop too.
I wish I could have rated higher, but the floor and tables were so dirty and sticky. The fries were oily/soggy and seemed like they'd been left in the frier for a very long time. The cod we all got was ok, but the batter was a tad more flavorless than we were expecting. I do like that the batter was thin like we experienced when we went to the UK last summer. I don't know if they had any brown sauce/malt vinegar to go on anything, I didn't ask. I WILL say, the tartar sauce and curry sauce are great. I wish they had fried Mars bars! They did sell regular Mars bars though. I unfortunately don't think we'll be back. I hope the owners take this as constructive criticism, rather than us wanting to hurt their business. A fish and chip shop is an awesome idea and there is potential. The execution just needs to be changed.
I have been a customer of Chippy since it has opened, the 2 Fish & Chip dinners I bought tonight were terrible, fish was undercooked, soggy breading & the grease saturated the chips made them uneatable. Unless things change I will not be coming back. The meals I purchased tonight, I could have had better quality @ CaptainD's.
Parking: Parking was available
Prices say "We pay our employees a living wage" and then you get extorted for a tip range that starts beyond what would be considered acceptable for a fast casual restaurant.Chips: Pretty good! And plenty of themFish: Flavorless breading, but a nice crunch. Fish was cooked nicely all the way throughTarter sauce: Some of the best I've hadIssues: Should cost about $3 less per meal. It's not worth more than $12-$13. Change your POS software, too. If you're going to force the poor workers manning your shop to beg for tips to get by (even though there is zero aspect of "service" to justify a tip), Then the tipping range needs to start at 5% and go from there. Fast casual starting at 15% tip where they never leave the kitchen is an automatic 0% from me. If this changes, I'll be back.
The fish is good, the french fries are delicious and their bread is awesome. They were out of coleslaw for some reason the place is not even busy to be out of something. So that tells me they only make a little because they have lack of customers. It’s only obvious their prices are ridiculous. We ordered three plates. It came with fries and fish. I didn’t see a two piece combo, that would’ve been nice. Our regular place where we used to live at combos and a la carte, With large pieces of cod, french fries, fried shrimp, fried pineapple, and delicious coleslaw…. You cannot survive if you have very little sides to choose from and High priced plates. I did like the atmosphere it remind me when I was in Germany, for some reason.I wish you guys much success
I have been coming to The Chippy for several years. Whenever I am in Colorado Springs I try to stop there for a meal. I started coming here before the remodel started. I have seen that go a couple different directions. I like the way it is set up now. The tables on one side and the shop on the other side is great. The fish and chips were awesome. We went with the cod. The cod was crisp and hot, as were the chips. We enjoy ours with the malt vinegar on the fish and salt on the chips. It was a very good meal. I noticed some reviews mentioned sticky floors. Not sticky at all. The whole place seemed clean and orderly. The new menu and prices were a surprise for us. Talk about sticker shock. I mentioned it to the person waiting on us, and told him that the new prices were going to make our visits less frequent. I figured I would give some feedback in person.
I am English! This is NOT exactly what I consider to be battered sausage and chips. No batter on the sausage and chips were a soggy oily mess which seemed to be cooked in old oil.To add insult to injury the price was way too high.Every time I vow to not go back and give it another try the food gets progressively worse.
Easily the best fish & chips I’ve ever had. They even had a small selection of imported candy, soups, jellies, and such.

Oh my goodness!! I popped in here when leaving Colorado Springs after an appointment. Absolutely the best fish n chips I've had. The house made tartar sauce is so good I could have eaten it by the spoonful. The owner is from Britain and he also has a wonderful mini British candy and treats shop in there. The Mint Humbugs are now a family favorite. I will be looking forward to future trips to Colorado Springs!
First time there and honestly the fish and chips was great. I shared a largecod with my husband. The portion was perfect in size. Large pieces of fish and a generous helping of fries. The cod was light and flakey, the batter was perfect. I loved the tarter sauce, great flavor. The lady at the front counter was very polite and helpful.Inside was nice and clean. Very pleasant. Not sure about the reviews about a dirty establishment... it was nothing like those reviews claimed.I'm looking forward to going again for some great fish and chips.
Not bad. I'm originally from England so I can definitely say this doesn't come close to British Fish & Chips in my opinion. The fish was pretty flavorless, but was cooked thoroughly. The batter was too thick and very greasy, not like the traditional British way of doing it. The chips didn't taste like British chips at all. Overall I'd give the meal a 5/10. There was a small section that has an assortment of British food products. They were extremely expensive. The 3 stars are mainly for the condition of the place. The floors were incredibly sticky, the tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned all day. Feels like the owner has given up on the place a bit.
LOVED it! I took my mom here and we both got the cod. Perfectly fried flaky fish. The chips (fries) we're also very good. Homemade. We got a side of curry sauce and it was delicious on the fries and fish. I also did some shopping in their little store and got some of my favorite British candies.
I've lived in England off and on for 15 years and have eaten my fair share of fish n chips. I found this place by accident and I'm happy I did. This is the closest you're going to get to true British fish and chips without going to England. They were absolutely great and cooked to order, which isn't the case at many English chippies. I was surprised they offered mushy peas as well, which I declined. Super good food and really nice people. You can't ask for more!
