After recommending this location to my friends we went on Friday 3 January at around 1pm. We are visiting from Hawaii (military family). We lived in COS for 7 yrs before HI.
The hostess didn't not acknowledge us, we had to go to her and she didn’t want to sit is. We were a party of 6 and there were multiple table available, but she refused to let is put tables together to accommodate our group. She just walked away without giving us another thought.
We ended up leaving without being seated. Sad to see so many local restaurants and businesses going out of business in COS, but with this type of service, it wouldn’t surprise me if this location closes soon too.

Came out to the Public House for date night. Great meal! Try the fried green tomatoes! Come for a show at the Vault when they have one! Going to try the cheese steak sandwich next time. Service was a little slow due to not enough staff for the comedy show.

Cool spot with brewery/ distillery vibe. Good burger and food menu. I got the shrimp tacos. Four tacos with 2 shrimps each for about 13 bucks. Very tasty and affordable imo. I didnt like that the shrimps was fried. I got the Amber beer and also the coffee cream ale 🍺 was great especially if you like the taste of coffee. I would deff recommend this place.

Parking: Weird entrance. Need to turn on Nevada by the hotel to get into the lot.

We were a family of four looking for a casual dinner spot. I am usually super forgiving, especially when it comes to divey pubs, but even I couldn’t believe our experience here. I called ahead to see if they had a kids menu and was told yes, and they even serve kids portions of their other options, “like a kids burger”. My son loves burgers so off we went. When we walked in, there was one table of four with dishes still on it. The sign said seat yourself. We waited for about ten minutes by this table before anyone came to clean it off. It took even longer for someone to come by and take our order. When I tried to order a kids burger they said they didn’t have a kids but I could order their regular burger. (When it came, the fries had about 1/4 the regular amount, looking to be kids size but they charged us for an adult burger order). After ordering drinks and food, I had to ask someone to bring us waters to the table. Our food took an incredibly long time to come. So much so that the waitresses apologized, saying their crew was new, and they were taking extra time “to make sure they got it right for us.” After that long wait, a waitress came by to tell my wife the pot roast she ordered was no longer available. So she had to order a new meal. She repeatedly asked for everyone else’s orders to be brought out before hers because our kids were understandably starting to protest they were so hungry (where’s our food, I’m so hungry, I have nothing to eat, etc.). We had to play multiple rounds of mad lib just to keep everyone entertained enough to not get too hangry. And when our food finally did come, it wasn’t right. I had ordered my sandwich without cheese but there was cheese on it. I had to take it up to the bar to tell the waitress it was wrong because no one checked on us after it was served. Later when the new order did come, it did not have cheese on it, but it also didn’t have sauce. I just ate the dry sandwich anyway, was too hungry to wait for someone to come by again to ask for sauce. Then the check. The waitress did offer me a free beer for all the trouble, but when the check came they had charged us for both the pot roast and my wife’s second order - as if we had ordered both! The waitress also said she applied a discount for the issues. The discount was a nickel. Literally, five cents. I’m attaching a picture of the receipt because I couldn’t believe it myself. My wife had to go up to the bar to ask them to take the pot roast off and if that was the correct discount applied. They said no and brought back a check with a 10% discount. At this point they should have comped the whole meal, but we didn’t even get the cost of our kids meal burger charged as an adult waived. I hate leaving bad reviews and like I said, normally extend a lot of grace and second chances, but this has me so annoyed that I’ll never go back. I understand it was a Monday night, but it was Dec. 30. They should’ve known most people aren’t working and looking to go out this week. We’ve always enjoyed their food at Red Leg and wanted to try their restaurant, but won’t be making that mistake again.

Public House is one of my absolute favorite spots in Colorado Springs. The food is excellent and fairly priced. They have the best burgers in town but the other options are all delicious too. Their team cares about quality and you can 100% tell. They always have an excellent selection of craft beer too. They are one of the best in town!

The burger was really good and the meat delicious. There are not many options for vegetarians but the veggie burger was passable. Drink refills were very slow and service was haphazard. There were no dessert options at all.
There us an extensive beer menu posted on the wall but we could not see it and the wait staff did not mention it.

Parking: Not a lot of handicap parking and it is off to the side.
