We LOVED DJing a wedding at Sunflower Restaurant! We are a local DJ company, Gunnison Valley Entertainment and working at The Sunflower the staff was wonderful, the food was spectacular, and the vibes were wonderful all night for the couple and their guests. Grateful to have restaurants in the Valley willing to open their doors to couples and vendors like us. Would love to be back and DJ again in the future!

Overpriced and the worst service imaginable. There are plenty of other great restaurants in CB that have better food, service and you won’t feel ripped off when you get your bill. 20% gratuities should not be added to a bill when the service is so horrendous.

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The service, the staff, and atmosphere! Everything is above and beyond. I can’t tell you what to eat because the plates are seasonal but if it sounds good, it is. Just try it! A must visit spot when you’re in Crested Butte. Just make sure you text to make reservations. All the above makes them very busy!

Food was delicious, and service was good until it wasn’t. DO NOT go to this restaurant if you would like to carry on a conversation. We were seated next to a table of eight young women who asked to have the music turned down. One of them said they were “blown off.” We asked a different staff member to turn down the music. It was turned down some, and the guests actually clapped! At the end of the meal our waiter, Nick, came to the table and thanked us for choosing to celebrate our anniversary at their restaurant. I told him we loved the food, and that we appreciated his knowledge and guidance in making our selections. I told him that it could have been a perfect evening if the music weren’t so LOUD. He e said “That’s our vibe, and it helps to keep the staff pumped.” That felt like he was basically saying if you don’t like it, go somewhere else. Guess keeping the staff “pumped” is more important than keeping the guests happy.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would—though I’m pretty sure Chris (the owner and unofficial mayor of flavor-town) would just hand-deliver me another plate of food and say, “See, this is the sixth star.”

The food was out-of-this-world good—the kind where you’re negotiating with your stomach to please, please make more room. Every bite felt like it was cooked with both skill and soul. And then there’s Chris, who didn’t just drop by the table; he seemed to have a superpower for tailoring the whole experience to us. From recommendations that felt like he knew our taste buds better than we do, to little touches that made the night unforgettable, he made it feel like we were guests in his home rather than just customers.

Bottom line: the food was incredible, the atmosphere was warm, and Chris made sure it was personal in the best way possible. We left full, happy, and plotting our excuse to come back way sooner than is socially acceptable.

Do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Sunflower. We ate at all the “fancy” places in CB and Sunflower was by far a class above. The food is exquisite. The service was so personable yet professional. Cocktails were perfect. And the restaurant is quaint and comfortable. This is THE place to be in CB.

What can I say other than THANK YOU to Natalie and the entire Sunflower team? They went above and beyond to make our wedding reception not only delicious but truly special. Leading up to the event, they were incredible to work with, and on the night of, they made everything feel seamless. Sunflower feels like home in the best possible way—warm, cozy, and with food that is absolutely top tier. It was my goal to have the best wedding food anyone has ever had, and Sunflower completely delivered. Every course was better than the last, and our families are still raving about it. A huge thank you to Natalie, Chris, Ben, and everyone at Sunflower—we will treasure that night forever!

I was in Crested Butte visiting from Maryland for me and my girlfriend’s anniversary. If there were more than 5 stars I can promise they’d be checked. From the moment we stepped inside the service was unmatched. Then comes the food…. The depth of flavor, freshness, and overall attention to detail was incredible. I can say it was the best meal I’ve ever had. Would recommend to anyone in Crested Butte

I was here for an event, so I'm not sure how well this translates to a normal night, but wow. The food was incredible. Farm to table fresh and there was a wide variety of dishes that they pulled off very well. The service was probably the best I've ever seen. Amazing staff. Cozy, stylish vibe.

Natalie and Sunflower are excellent to work with for small event or reception!

The smallest portions in the history of mankind. It’s a nice presentation but no one should leave a restaurant literally hungry and starving. Menus are misleading presented as a layered entree example white salmon with risotto, you will get a 1/2 piece of salmon with two to three kernels of risotto. Come on, risotto is a filler your could at least add more than three kernels; I am very serious that there was not enough risotto for one single fork full, basically consider the entree as a appetizer and you will need at minimum of 2 and some sides to make it a light dinner. The restaurant presents itself as a tasting type menu just be prepared because there’s noting in the menu that explains the ultra light entrees and once you to the table they explain that, so at minimal you will be requiring a few entrees and sides and desert for one skinny person like me. Half cup of soup versus a cup and half a sausage link versus a full entree. The patio is nicely decorated and heated the interior is except-able but somewhat lacking for a higher caliber restaurant. The service is fairly good the verbal introduction to the menu is exceptional aside from explaining how incredibly small the portions are as a family of four we were sold that two entrees and a salad and two soups would be sufficient and we had to eat again afterwards.

Some of the most friendly service I have ever experienced and the food was absolute perfection. Definitely worth going to.
