Great cocktails. Very reasonable wine list. But the stars of the show were the Elk, Bison and Trout. All were excellent. Tender, tasty and cooked to perfection. Amy our server was exceptional. We arrived early and were seated right away and found the wood tables and wood walls not much above Applebees. And loud! But we had an excellent meal and would go back!

Everything we ordered was delicious (entrees and sides) and perfectly prepared (trout, ribeye, burger and prime rib). All servers were very friendly; however, we had to ask twice for a few extra small plates (for sharing foods) and I did not get a steak knife with my prime rib…had to ask for one. Love the atmosphere. We always enjoy WN as we visited 10 years ago. Never disappoints and hopefully will be around on our next ski trip.

I went in for an early dinner and was glad I did. The portions were large and the topping for their Brussels was delicious! The shishito peppers were a huge portion and the prime rib was amazing!

As a regularly foodie, this meal was very enjoyable. The pleasantness of the staff as well as their knowledge of various items made it easy to choose dishes to compliment one another. Price point was fair but MAKE NOTE OF 8% kitchen fee added to all in house meals.

Historical character for days. Food sub par. Service sub par. Might want to bus tables before main coarse. Just a thought.

The food was good and the service was good. However, when we received the check, we noticed a 6% “tax” for the kitchen staff. Nowhere on the menu or posted in the restaurant are you notified that you will be required to pay this tax. It’s bad enough that wherever you go, you are required to pay 20% for a restaurant’s wait staff wages. How about paying your kitchen staff a decent wage without taxing the people that are already supporting your business? Does this even go to the kitchen? All of this seems suspect and I find it absurd!

The trout tasted good, but left me a little queasy the following AM. It may be just me because I, as well as my bro, sometimes don't adjust well to fish we're not accustomed to.

Best place to eat at CB. While servers were nice, slow to get things for you like extra plates and a steak knife which should have received in the first place as I ordered the prime rib special. But everything was delicious!

Food was good. The pork chop was great and reasonably priced. We had to wait for 25 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation. The hostess said they were clearing our table when we arrived but then she gave the table to another group that appeared to be walk up customers.

Love the historic element of Wooden Nickel. I can remember years ago when it was more of a dive bar but currently being more of an upscale restaurant serves it well. You should be prepared to be patient with the service but once things get rolling food and beverages come out in a timely fashion. Sam our waitress was nothing less than spectacular. We had the Bison rib-eyes and the Tenderloin both were really noteworthy.

Do you want to pay the kitchen staff's salary? I do not but if you eat here, you will be doing just that. Wooden Nickel (and Elk Prime) now charge a 6% tax that they claim is for the kitchen staff. Do you pay them? That's your job as the employer, not the customer. You sneak it onto the bill in hopes of people not noticing and I assume it is working since I have not seen many complaints. You got me once, but never again.

We were seated next to a waiting area and people kept crowding our table and asking us what we were eating. My husband's jacket was pushed to the floor by them multiple times. When we received our food, it was raw and a horrible cut of prime rib so we sent it back. It came back medium rare (what we originally asked for), which was good. Saving grace was the server who was excellent. 6% kitchen charge was a surprise so we included that as part of the tip. Probably won't eat here again.

Went out on our Valentines Day date night coming in before heading up to the mountain. Was a bit of a wait for our food and drinks when we saw others got theirs when we got there before them. Frustrating but we wanted to try going there besides the bad reviews, we know now why there were bad reviews. Food was awesome, bison sirloin and pork chop was pretty great with flavor minus all the waiting.

Filet Mignon, Lobster Tails, Pork Chop and Sundried Tomatoes andMushroom pasta were enjoyed by our group. Small tables and crowded made for a noisy evening. Our server did a good job with the pace of our evening
