Sadly the experience is not the lovely afternoon tea the Brown Palace is previously known for. The sandwiches and tea cakes were dry and tasted like yesterday's. The facilities do not seem like they are being maintained, everything seemed worn including a barely functional restroom. Our servers were very nice and the piano was lovely. Come on Marriott take care of this property and cherish the history.
Ambience felt dark and uninviting. Needs more fresh flowers to brighten . Without tablecloths it didn't feel very elegant. Carpet was old and splitting under our table. Felt very crowded. To much on the table. No place to set things. Sandwiches had no flavor. Scones were crumbly and hard to eat. Also lacked flavor. Desserts were good, but a bit too rich. Should have asked if bill was all one or split. Not worth the price.
The tea was nice, very pricy and we, four of us, did not like the cucumber sandwiches, because instead of the normal cream cheese they put a salmon version, very unappealing. Hope they change it back as it was one of my favorite ones in the past.
We love going to the Brown Palace for Tea every summer with my kids. Hiwat is always a true blessing and joy when she is there. The pianist is so incredible, he even played Winnie the Pooh when we requested. Don't hesitate to make a special afternoon here, it is a tradition for us.
Our servers Hilaya and Forrest were amazing. Very thoughtful and attentive. Can't wait to come back.
I took my daughter there to celebrate her beginning graduate school here in town! It was absolutely lovely. I can't recommend it highly enough! It was wonderful!!
We were seated right next to the piano. If they ask you, ask to be moved if you want to talk at all. The music was lovely, just loud for us. They should seat those as last, not first. Also, we were celebrating a birthday. There was no acknowledgement or anything special. I would have liked a candle or something in one of the cupcakes for my son. Adding on an alcohol after drink took so much time that we sat while the drink was enjoyed. Order those early in your visit.
John Kite Quartet at the Brown Palace is genuinely an experience to behold, I have seen John perform there for many years truth he just gets Better with Time. Niwat, was an added treat as our server, and she leads a Conga Line holding her tray like the Professional she is.
We had a lovely time celebrating our anniversary. They were able to accommodate a vegan diet and the food items were absolutely delicious! Plenty of savory and sweet items —with the option to take leftovers. The atrium is a beautiful setting, and even though it was quite busy, we were still able to enjoy the live piano. Our waitress, Hiwat (spelling may be wrong), is very sweet and provides great customer service! We want to come by again during cocktail hour!
My husband and I have had high tea here a few times for special occasions. The tea itself is high-quality, the service lovely, and the atmosphere divine, but I'm always reluctant to go back. This is an instance where I can't simply be grateful they offer vegan options as the vegan options are generally maddingly bland hummus on a piece of celery. I've been to small cafes in the middle of nowhere and had chefs be excited by the challenge of whipping up something for me. To have a fancy place in the middle of a major metropolitan city that can't get it together to make a few basic vegan finger foods when requested is unforgivable. You can do better, Brown Palace.

I have been an ardent fan of afternoon tea for a decade and the Brown Palace has always been my go-to in Denver. I’ve been so many times I can’t even count including 3 times within the past 2 months. Each time I have slowly been let down more and more. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning but they do need to do some upkeep (i.e. new carpets) to make it reach its potential. The service has gotten slower and slower over the year which has been ok until the servers also became more and more unfriendly, sometimes just rude. My latest experience was my baby shower. I chose to have my shower here because due to my love of high tea and the palace itself. I was highly unimpressed. It was 15 guests including myself and I made the reservation almost two months in advance. I called to confirm 2 weeks before and left a message, I was never given a call back. When I made the reservation, the staff member told me I was guaranteed a 30 minute time window to set up. On the day of, I had my friend call and confirm the guest count and set up time. The manager, Desi, said that they do not guarantee any set up and would not be accommodating that. She also said since the guest count was not the original number I made the reservation for (20 ppl) that I would be getting charged for those cancellations, even though I called 2 weeks in advance to let them know and left two messages. She eventually waived this fee. The table ended up not even being ready until almost 30 minutes after my reservation time so all of my guests were left standing around while I put out my florals. The staff didn’t even finish setting the table, they just set out plates randomly and my friend had to put the place settings in the correct places. Desi came by and made some very rude comments I thought were unprofessional for a manager. The server was very nice but was slow and didn’t bring us menus for another 20 minutes. Food was good. Overall, it turned out to be a good event despite the failings of the staff. I expected more and would go to Babe’s Tea Room for my next event. Better food and service.

Was just okay for the price. For 65$ I would expect to be able to try a variety of teas. They also steeped it far too long and refilled the tea kettle with hot water and the same tea leaves so it just ended up being bitter very quickly. The food was decent and you get a second plate of sandwiches which is nice. However I do not think it is worth the price compared to other high teas available in the area.

Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace is such a lovely experience. From the second you arrive (valet parking) the service and the staff are always delightful. My mom, sister and I go a few times a year for celebrating birthdays, etc. My personal favorite tea option is the tea, tea sandwiches, pastries, scones, a glass of champagne and a chocolate truffle. They have a great selection of teas. The servers are very friendly and add to the experience. I highly recommend having tea at the Brown Palace!

We had afternoon tea on a quiet Tuesday for my niece's 14th birthday. This was our 2nd time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. As always, food and tea were wonderful. Hiwat was our server and she was excellent. Hiwat was very friendly, engaging and attentive. She brought my niece a cupcake with a candle while the pianist played Happy Birthday. What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon - at the Brown Palace with Hiwat!

They didn't care to refill our tea or plates we had to call them over twice. Got the wrong receipt and took forever for them to fix it. The sandwiches were all so very dry I can tell they were sitting out long. The bathroom is also not baby friendly.
