Iconic Texas BBQ in the Denver metro. This is my favorite BBQ place I've been to in Denver. Classic Texas BBQ. Everything is good. banana pudding is remarkable. This place does not get enough acknowledgment for how amazing it really is. It received the Bib Gourmand Award on the Michelin Guide for Denver... do I need to say more?

Came in from Texas. Heard good things… We get it. We came in after 5 pm and knew we weren’t going to get the best or freshest cuts. But AJ, bro, your BBQ sauce is way too sweet. More Kansas City than Texas. And no hot sauce? I’ll keep searching to a good BBQ spot in Denver.

This place is AMAZING. I'm a college student stuck eating dry chicken almost everyday and I needed some good meat in me. I've grown up with my dad's award-winning meats and I'm telling you this was INCREDIBLE. It literally made me cry, I was so happy to have some amazing meat. I got a tri-tip sandwich and it was SO flavorful and SO good! Their banana pudding was to die for. I will be coming back here as much as I can afford it on a broke college budget and especially every time I'm homesick because let me tell you, AJ's Pit Bar-B-Q cured every ounce of homesickness I had.

I had the pastrami wagyu... Amazing! Highly recommend
My significant other had the pork ribs, which were also very, very tasty.
The quality of their food is, without question, beyond exceptional. They certainly earn the prices they charge, but not budget friendly.
Despite the price, I will go again.
Vegetarian options: Would you even come here for that? I guess the coleslaw maybe. Depending on the mayonnaise

Not enough meat for the price you pay. Ribs, got 4 pieces, brisket, got 3 pieces, sides, not great, corn bread, watery, unflavored.

The food was delicious! We ordered the smoked brisket and pulled pork. We also ordered the potato salad, truffled mac and cheese, and the banana pudding. I want to start with the smoked brisket and pulled pork. They were amazing. They were extremely tender and had great flavor and juice. We chose the North Carolinian sauce which I 100% recommend. As for the sides, the mac and cheese were good, but nothing too special. Same for the potato salad. Warning, these sides are very filling, and they give you a lot. Lastly, the dessert. As a North Carolinian banana pudding is something we are VERY picky about. This banana pudding is certainly a delicious one and would recommend trying it. The consistency is a bit thicker than what I am used to and has less banana flavor, but overall, still very delicious.
As for the ambiance, the service was great with a laid-back rustic vibe. The place is also kind of hidden you as well have to look for it. Certainly, a diamond in the rough.
Parking: There is a gravel parking lot right across the street from the restuarant.

Super BBQ but expensive for bare-bones experience including tipping to bus your own table and upcharge for using credit card.
