The beef pho had a weak broth. This place might be great in Downtown Denver, but would not even rank in Aurora or on Federal Ave. It is fine if you are stuck in downtown and hungry. But I am disappointed that I specifically came here to try it out due to the high google reviews. The menu is extremely basic - there’s only a few pho options, a few bahn mi options, etc. For example, you can’t get just “phở tái” - pho with thin sliced rare steak, the only option you have is pho with both thin slices of beef AND beef chunks. The slices I did get were very well done. Finally they have a weird up charge for extra sriracha. It says right on the menu that they were forced to impose this charge due to some sort of diner abuse. Admittedly, this restaurant is in a weird part of downtown but you gotta wonder how mixed the restaurant crowd here is if someone is stealing sriracha to the point of it being a surcharge problem

The pho was delicious. The way you rate it would depend in your priorities. My pho kit was amazing. Lots of fresh delicious veggies. Good amount of tasty broth. Only lost a star because there was only about 2 ounces of chicken and it was dry and tough. The wings were good and the house sauce is tasty. Wings also come with scrumptious fresh veggies.

I've been to over twelve pho restaurants in Colorado. ANISE is the very best! The broth is so delicious and rich, the meat is tender, and the noodles are perfect. The service is professional, and the atmosphere is lively. This will be my go to spot from here on out, next time I'm trying the bottomless mimosas!

My son and I had wonderful meals. He had a pho dish that he liked and I had a very tasty fish entree. The tofu spring rolls were great and the sauces very flavorful during all aspects of the meal.

Food had a bug in my food, when I brought it up to the server's attention she with her hands took it off my plate and expected me to continue eating as of nothing had happened. Didn't apologize nor offer to bring a new plate or remove the item from my bill. When I asked she got pretty upset and started yelling on her native language then proceeded to yell at the kitchen staff. It was my first time going there mainly because of the good reviews but food itself isn't good aside from the big situation.

Despite the fact that this place is so close to downtown, it is very authentic. The food is delicious!!! They have one of the best beers ever...made right here in Colorado,, Left Hand St. Vrain Tripel!!!!The shrimp spring rolls and the pork egg roll rice noodle bowl (not actual names on the menu.... Just ask, they will know.).Come down. Tell your friends.

We came at happy hour and ordered every spring roll in the menu. The herbs, veggies and meat were super fresh! Combination Pho was incredible, and the Vietnamese chicken salad was flavorful. Will definitely be coming again!

We had the best lunch experience! Food was fresh, light and filling. We ordered the banh mi bites, spicy edamame, banh xeo, and Vietnamese iced coffee. Service was wonderful and we appreciated how friendly the owner was. She was hosting, taking orders, and her dad was also helpful. The atmosphere was inviting, clean, and boasts pictures shot by her husband in Vietnam. We were delighted to hear some of the stories behind the photos. As mid-westerners, it was nice to run into folks who exude “mid-west nice” in Denver.

Visited Anise after getting our snowboards waxed next door to Evo, and overall it was an enjoyable visit! The setting was calm, relaxed, and the restaurant was about half full on a Wednesday night. It felt homey/family room, and the server was very nice, helpful, and attentive. One thing to note is that their Banh Mi is only served during lunch.* Spicy Edamame: Nothing special about this dish, was essentially plain steamed edamame with their signature hot spice drizzled on it, but the sauce is so spicy that they can only use a little bit, which leaves the edamame a little dry and unseasoned (could use some more salt).* Shrimp Spring Roll: Probably our favorite item, one of the best spring rolls we've had! Slightly warm, the shrimp tasted fresh, kinda creamy, not rubbery, with the right amount of veggies and rice. I would come back for these alone.* Beef Pho: The broth was really good, light, not too salty, and they don't use MSG. Overall tasted as expected. The dish was light, and overall on the smaller side with less noodles then we've had at other places.* Chicken Stir Fry: Smoky, herby, warm flavor, very comforting. I recommend getting a little bit of their spicy house sauce and putting in on it, was perfect! For the quality of the food and the service, the price was great! We left full under $80 with all the food, tax, and tip. I'd recommend stopping by and trying it out if you find yourself in the area.

Ordered the sautéed pork banh mi and enjoyed it! Seasoning and spices add a lot of flavor to the whole sandwich. I did like the kind of bread used, very baguette-like but a bit soft. Wish it had been toasted just a bit more. The one negative that stood out was the sweetness of the pickled veggies and meat. Overall though, great banh mi in the area. Would come back again for another.
