Great place for a special occasion. Once you get past the grumpy troll at the door, the servers were very friendly. The food was delicious and there was a wide range of options. The interior is quite unique.

Bastiens, even after all these years, is one of the best steakhouses in Denver. The food was superb, the service from when we walked in the door, to when we left was incredible. I left my credit card in the book on the table and received a text almost immediately to let me know, when I left the restaurant. Parking is easy, even with the construction on colfax. Happy to support our great neighborhood restaurants.

Bastien’s is hands down the best steak in town! The steaks are always cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and juicy. The atmosphere is friendly, cozy, and welcoming, making it a great spot whether you’re going out with family, friends, or even on a date night. The service is warm and attentive, and you can tell they truly care about their guests.

The food is amazing and lives up to the hype. The sugar rub on a steak is an absolute must if you’ve never been there. Also, the mashed potatoes are fantastic.

The food here is unbelievable. Cammy was an amazing server with great personality. Nice wines to go with your chicken, steak, or pork. Cocktails are spot on and unique.

I gave this place a low atmosphere score because the tables full of “bro groups” were annoying as hell. F-bombs dropped left and right, loud football arguments, and nonstop talk about relations between women and men.

The establishment WOULD have had a perfect score from me had it not been for the tables of what seems like frat boys all over the place.

Be aware of that if this is meant to be a quiet date.

INCREDIBLE. I live a block away and have been smelling this place for almost 2 years, can confirm it tastes even better.

Went with my gf for our anniversary, we had a blast with our server Kami, every bite of food was delicious, the vibes were so cool. Can't wait to come back and try some more things, though it can't get better than the sugar rub for me.

Got a bottle of champs so can't speak to their cocktails, but I'd venture a guess they're amazing too.

It’s a little old school but it is a STAPLE for Denver. Iconic building with iconic neon, martinis and Sugar Steaks! I highly recommend taking a date, splitting a steak alongside some filthy martinis and thoroughly enjoying the charred Caesar Salad.

The steak came out and looked great, but was all grisly and fat. I couldn't eat most of it! My fault was I didn't complain.

I have lived in Denver my whole life and finally decided to try the infamous sugar steak.

The bred offered was ok, but the butter tasted odd. We couldn't place the favor that put it off

We tried the escargot, canned and nothing special.

We shared a ny strip mid rare. It was more on the rare side, but not enough to send back. The meat is a bit tough. The steak knife provided doesn't really cut the steak well. The sugar crust wasn't good. It just created sweetness and bitterness from the char. The meat was not salted or tempered correctly. It could have been a lot better if the meat was tempered with salt before it was cooked.

The salad and soup options for the sides were basic. The mashed potatoes where my favorite thing, the baked potato was my second favorite. Not worth the price in my opinion

The server was overly pre-emptive, trying to clear drinks and plates while we were still eating or drinking from them. Like from our hands.

The decor looks as though it hasn't changed in 50 years. That's not bad, the food matches the ambiance.

Also, it seems like a nice gesture, but it is unprofessional for staff to comment on guests physical appearance. Positive or otherwise.
