If you are visiting the Denver Art Museum (DAM) - in which it is located - or any nearby Denver attraction I would recommend a visit to Ponti for dinner. We ate there between seeing an exhibit of art by Pissaro and attending a lecture on impressionism in the music of Debussy. The food was quite good though not exceptional - my wife had the Moroccan Sweet Potato salad and I had a nice Butternut Squash Soup with pomegranate seeds and a Cavatelli, and for dessert we shared an interesting (and good) Pumpkin Spice Crème Brûlée. The server was conscientious about getting us out in time for our lecture. The ambience in the room where we were sitting was quiet and not too fancy. They have a large bar in an adjacent area, but we didn't use it so can't comment further. In warm weather they have an pleasant outside seating area, adjacent to the indoor seating area and in a plaza shared with the architecturally interesting main branch of the Denver Public Library and across the way from the DAM's (also architecturally interesting) Hamilton building.
Lovely menu options, great ambience in one of the timeless interior settings extant. A pleasure and joy to dine here.
The environment was remarkable, The Menu was exciting, The food was delicious , The Service was attentive, The value was outstanding. I'll be returning for another wonderful experience.
Amazing ambience and cocktails. Perfect place to grab a drink and hit the latest DAM exhibit.
We arrived early for our reservation and sat outside. It was a nice day but got a little chilly by the end of the meal which took 2 HOURS FOR LUNCH!!!! The food was very good, as usual, but our waiter was terrible. He just didn't listen to what we ordered, how we wanted it delivered and as a result, our expectations were not met. He left out part of one of the mains and when he was specifically told to just take it off the bill, he delivered it anyway “at no cost”. As always happens in that instance, it arrived late and, worse, it was refrigerator cold in the middle. We had starters, appetizers and desserts. Nothing not on the menu. The service was not only bad, it was extremely slow. I will go back to the Ponti because it's a favorite and this was the first awful experience we've had in all the years it's been open but wow, it was a mess.
Everything is exceptional but the decor. But being so close, inside the museum, it is still wonderful to dine here. The tables by the windows are the best.
The Ponti is a great restaurant with atmosphere, good service and the food is amazing. Will definitely go again
Terrible food, cold coffee served in what looked like dirty cups they so covered in spilled coffee. Terrible dessert- tasted only of vinegar. Aweful main courses. What happened to a once lovely place to eat after goi g to the museum. Won't be back.
If I could give the service negative stars I would. The girl ignored us for 5 minutes when we first walked up because she was playing on her phone. Then they burned the overpriced grilled cheese because, again. The girls were just sitting there on their phones the only one I saw working was the one who left to get more to-go containers because they ran out which I'm betting contributed to the sandwich being burnt they just left it in there until she got back. This place feels like a prison and the staff will literally clean right under your feet. Decor? Horrible food? Mediocre? Service? Down right deplorable. Don't waste your money there's tens of hundreds of Cafe/restaurants that are better than this dump.

Kale needs to be massaged— it’s a touch-starved little green that loves some olive oil and tender hands. Today the Buddha bowl we ordered was a lonely and confused mix of depressed, thirsty kale, uncut broccoli, and some four dollar raw tofu. Dressing was scarce and flavor only abounded in the brussel sprouts, which were chewy. I’m sure it’s good for the colon, but my sensibilities were left unsatisfied. The hastily-prepared suicidal soybean salad did not have me reaching enlightenment. I could feel the dharma governing the universe breaking down with each bite.
