The air conditioning was not working when we ate there. They really should have told us that when we entered the restaurant. It was oppressively hot and we couldn't tolerate it and had to get our food to go. The server never came back to refill ice water, which Was essential because it was so hot there. Overall, it was a terrible experience. We have eaten there many times and have always enjoyed it and had a positive experience. It was not the case this time.

I went here on a date with my boyfriend and was pleased with the aesthetic and service. Our waiter was Italian himself and was able to even explain which locations in Italy the dishes were from. I was impressed by his promptness, professionalism and kindness. The food was decent, although I do think my pappardelle noodles were a little on the thick side. Nonetheless, it was delicious. I am a long time customer of Cafe Mercato and have introduced many friends to it. It has been one of my favorite restaurants for many years. I brought some new friends there last night and the experience anything but good. Our waiter was rude from the outset. I have never experienced anything like it at this restaurant. My friend said they would not go back there. Ordinarily the service there is outstanding. I am hoping that this will be rectified
