I placed an order for a cake one month before the event. Two weeks later we asked if we could send photos of what we wanted and were given an email address where we could attach photos. We made numerous attempts after their reply that they received the order but failed to get a response. I physically took a hard copy photo to the location and the girl attached it to my already paid invoice. Today, the day of the occasion I received a totally different cake. When I called to let them know I was told “I don’t know what to do you’re not going to be happy!” This is a business … I am the customer who paid for the cake a MONTH in advance… and we sent photos of what we wanted 3 WEEKS ahead of time not last minute. Also when you call the Colorado location you get a fax line … buyer beware … you’ll notice other negative reviews as well … there are other gigs in town ;o)

We ordered two half-sheet cakes for a 60th birthday party (one poppy seed with raspberry filling, and the other chocolate with mocha filling). The decorating was great and everybody at the party raved about how good the cakes tasted.

I've lived 47 whole years on this earth, thinking I wasn't really an icing person, and Cakes by Karen has me questioning my entire identity. My husband picked up some cupcakes for Valentine's Day- they were tasty, fresh, and delicious. We got a small cake last week and I'm still thinking about them. Can't wait for all of the celebrations I'm going to invent just so I can purchase more cakes 😊 yum! So grateful to have a delicious bakery in the neighborhood.

Wow! 🤩 The unicorn cake we ordered for my daughter’s 3rd birthday was spectacular! It was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. I felt a little sad when we had to cut it to eat… but as beautiful as it was… it was delicious! If you are looking for the most perfect, beautifully detailed unicorn cake, Cakes by Karen! I am so impressed!
I came to cakes by Karen for the first time to get a special cake for my son’s 9 birthday party, he has celiac and has to eat gluten free. I saw cakes by Karen offer gluten free, so we decided to try it out. First off everyone in that store is SO kind, I loved going in there. The cake was beautiful, tasted delicious, and no one knew it was gluten free!

We ordered my wedding cake last April and it was a HUGE disappointment with the layers of filling being so thin, way too much frosting to cake ratio. I am an amateur baker and could do a better job than this for far less. My husband ordered my 50th birthday cake in November of last year and my favorite cake is carrot cake, I make an award winning recipe as an amateur baker, and this cake was like a box cake recipe. Gross, dry and flavorless Cakes by Karen ruined two of my occasions with horrible cakes. I will not be celebrating any occasion with Cake by Karen. They have lost my business forever with their lack luster cakes.

She called on the pick up day to be sure we remembered to come in and I just feel like she truly cared and went the extra mile for us!
