Pretty solid neighborhood bar. I heard someone rave about the burger so when I was nearby I stopped in. Lunch time on a weekday and it was surprisingly busy, bar stools filled and most tables too. The cheeseburger was good, basic tavern burger, no frills. Mine wasn't smashed and seared nearly as well as some of the pictures, minimal mallard/crust, no lacey edges, but was still good. If cooked a little better I bet it would have been great. Ultimately, I would eat it again...
This is the definition of a dive bar, and I mean that in the best possible way. The bacon Swiss burger was one of the best burgers I’ve had in Denver, and definitely the best bang for your buck! Bonus, they are also dog friendly and have a great patio.
I had been meaning to visit the Candlelight for a long time and last night I finally did. I found it welcoming and familiar and my bacon cheeseburger was exactly what I hoped it would be - a slutty, greasy flat top burger.
