We had a fun family meal with our teens. The service and ambiance were very nice. We had the Caesar salad which was a bit spicy/vinegary or too much dressing to my taste and shared the chicken montana and spaghetti bolognese. It's a nice concept and a bit different to have family style so we enjoyed it. We could have had a table on the covered outside area but couldn't agree so sat inside.
I was distracted by other things during the evening, not the dinner. Had piccata, steady favorite, pear salad is very nice. It seemed as though there were some updates to the menu. Not drinking, had strawberry lemonade, a tad sweet, but delicious. Would be happy to go again with friends. Nice date place
Food was incredible, service was very friendly and attentive, food came out quickly. Food seemed reasonably priced for quality and the seasonal dishes were amazing!!
We live in Wyoming and made the trip to Denver only for dinner at Carmine's on Penn. excellent service and the food was incredible!
It had been years since my last time at Carmine's on Penn. Then food was just as good as I remembered it. The restaurant was quiet, the service was excellent and we had a great dinner.
we are going to Carmine for several years in a row. always great service and awesome authentic food. We didn't see any deviation on the quality - very stable. great achievement for the business!
I dined at 7 restaurants this week. When I got my reservation at Carmine on the Penn, it clearly said $35/person. When I get there, having paid for an Uber, I was told that they serve family style and my cost would be $70 (twice as much) and that I could choose only 1 entree-although I was paying twice as much. I explained this to the waitress and showed her my printed reservation and menu sheet with the $35 price. She talked to her manager. This was not altered in any way. This is NOT truth in advertising and although the food was excellent and the service was great, I do not feel that the advertising was honest. Beware of the ethics at this restaurant!
Tony was a great server - Thank you! Dinner took way too long to be served (3 hours) and food was okay. We tried pasta with clam sauce, it was bland. The meatballs and vodka sauce was really good as was the chicken carmine. The highlight was the Limoncello

Carmines has been just a few blocks from me for years. Now I will never recommend them and I will never set foot in there again. I am disappointed the owners of this restaurant supports a bill (HB1208)that takes money from their own staff. If they cannot afford to pay a living wage then they are not operating a successful business. I will be posting this on next door as well. Disgusting business practices. They once had an issue with the kitchen which cause intense and unbearable heat in the restaurant and the staff still had to work through it. We can do better than this in our neighborhood.

Don't waste your money or time on this place. My gf and I went here for dinner, ordered the ravioli, and Eggplant Parmesan! Only to be served Veal Parmesan, my gf is vegan, and I told the waiter it was wrong. They never corrected the mistake, charged me for it, and wanted an 18% gratuity on top of that. Go to Odyssey House for better food, and service.

Mediocre food, overly priced. Stupid extra charges for bringing and cutting our own cake. Wouldn’t even recommend this place to my enemy.

First, the food is very good. Everyone in our party liked every food item we ordered. The short ribs are excellent. However, for some strange reason you can not order one serving of any entry. You have to order either two or four servings. Why? Our server had no explanation. So either you have to coordinate with another person in your party to split a meal, or plan on taking some home. I guess it's their way of selling twice as many meals. For a restaurant of this caliber, our service was poor. They don't have a lot of tables and throughout our Saturday night dinner there were always open tables, yet our server would disappear for almost 20 minutes without coming by and checking on us or clearing the table. At one point I almost went to the service area to grab a pitcher of water myself because everyone at our table was out. He never came back to ask if anyone wanted another glass of wine or other drinks, he just disappeared. Empty plates sat on our table for a long time. Again, the actual food is very good, but minus one star because you can't order one serving, and minus another star for the poor service.

I haven’t been here in years and had great memories from the past so I was excited to go back.
We ordered salad, risotto and pasta. The salad was $22 for a salad for two. To be honest the salad at Olive Garden is about the same as this one.
The risotto was $40 for squid ink with shrimp. It lacked flavor, there were three boiled shrimp and it was nothing special. I had to add salt and Parmesan to give it flavor. They also said it was a portion for two. It wasn’t.
My partner had pasta carbonara, it was average.
I’m sad to see a restaurant that once was very good not stand the test of time. We spent $200 for two people for dinner and a couple of glasses of wine and we would have had a comparable meal at a chain Italian restaurant for a fraction of the price.
The service was good and the restaurant was cozy.
Very limited menu. Only family style options, so come with friends.
