We had such a nice time here this evening. Our waitress Emily was so nice and attentive. She even ran after me with my purse as I had left it on the back of my chair!!! Thanks Emily!!! We celebrated 2 birthdays tonight and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Carmines on Penn has been consistently a good place to eat for years!!!

I went here for my birthday, and we made a reservation for 12! We got seated immediately and also got drinks right away! Guests kept trickling in to sit at my table and they didn't miss a beat with drink orders, even though they were staggered. This is a family style restaurant but they do two people entrees as well. I loved this place! And will definitely be returning.

Well, what can I say? I've been to Carmines several times and have had many good meals there but this time was the exception. The food was actually very tasty, my gripe is with the portion size. For a “family style” dining this visit fell far short. We ordered the seasonal ravioli, the large dish, and were very surprised when the waiter served us each four measly ravioli each. And to make matters worse he served them on a plate where the portion looked incredibly small. This wasn't a particularly cheap platter of ravioli either. Do better Carmines.

Shared plate (family-style) dining is the format here and the mouth-watering possibilities make for potential arguments that no one can really lose because ANY selection will be exquisite. TIP: try the Chianti - it is a winner!

We had a wonderful dinner at Carmine's. I understand why this place has been an institution for so many years! Our server, Morgan, was super friendly and knowledgeable. Can't wait to pay another visit soon.

This location is primarily street parking and it was very busy in the area for a Wednesday night at 530. Restaurant was slow that night so service was great. Love the family style dining. The shrimp diavolo was just spicy enough and the veal parmigiana was excellent. And don't sleep on the garlic rolls! For dessert we should've stayed traditional with the tiramisu or cannolis but went with the gelato cookie. Cookie was too hard. Overall a great business dinner.

I've never been here. The food was good. It's not great, but not bad. We came for restaurant week. There were 5 of us. Online, it said $35 per person. Then when we get there they tell us it's a family meal. Something I never heard of. We all had to agree on the same dish. They said we would be charged $70. So big savings but not enough for everyone. In the end, it was just frustrating.

We hadn't been in a while. We were quickly reminded exactly why we love this place. Great atmosphere, amazing food and drinks and wonderful service! Oh, and those garlic knots!!!

We have been eating here for quite some time, it’s become our favorite date night spot. For the first time we were approached with a automatic 22% service charge. Most of it was justifiable except just beware 4% of your automatic tip added to your bill goes straight to the owners to pay the payroll tax on top of the expensive food you’re paying and the taxes on that. 4% to pay for their payroll tax and only 8% goes to the actual server. This has made us never want to return. We hope our server was able to keep the cash tip that we left for her individually really sad that these are the type of owners To charge their guests after charging them an insane amount of money for the good food that it is. A lemon shrimp pasta dish does not cost $62 to make I can guarantee it. Really sad, so please beware to everyone who is about to eat there, an AUTOMATIC 22% service charge, 4% goes to the owner you’re tipping. The owner. Please don’t think this goes straight to your server. Make sure to tip them more.

Came up from Castle Rock on Tues night for date night. Walked in, was “greeted” by the female bar tender in the most abrasive, curt way. Felt like we owed an explanation for being there. Got taken to a table….left within about 30 seconds of menus being set on the table. No music, no ambiance, rude bartender, bad vibes. If there’s a next time hopefully its more aligned with a lot of the other positive reviews posted

No need to book the place for 5280 week. This was our 3rd time going for 5280. The first 2 time were awesome. This time... not so much. The food is still alright for the most part. Prices... huh. $70 now for 1 shared meals. 1 salad, 1 entree, 1 dessert. All family style. On top of that. 27% services fee!!! Never again.

I have never had a bad meal or experience at Carmine’s! You truly can’t go wrong no matter what you order, but the vodka ravioli and chicken parm are my favorites. The chocolate cake is rich and heavenly. The service is always top notch and I just love the cozy ambiance!

Waited for 25 minutes to see the waiter and get anything more than water. Food was fair and tastes like caned sauce and average ingredients. I didn't see the value for the prices charged and 20% service fee included in my bill. This used to be a go to neighborhood family dinner place, I would not come back as cheaper options for really good Italian food exist nearby.
