Beware if you bring a car! Charlie's will tow your car regardless if you're in the bar or not. I was in the bar on November 14th, 2025 and I walked out to see that my car was towed. As someone who's loved this bar I recommend everyone to stay away!

I went in and was physically advanced upon a day after my rapist was released from prison and some random guy came up to me and got physically advanced upon. I told him to leave me alone. He wouldn’t. I told him to leave me alone, he wouldn’t. Then his friends got in my face about why I’m not pro hamas. Following ditching their surroundings, i spent the night with Yan (who I told this situation would unfold hours before what transpired.) these people, who were accompanied by Kath, a friend of the owners, got in my face for complimenting her shirt. Her, her black friend, and some short Mexican guy complained to the bartenders inside multiple times, while I left them alone. Adam had to remove me for defending myself and minding my own business.
That’s the customer service they provide.

I just moved back to Denver and went to Charlie’s tonight for the first time. I’m from the western slope and was looking forward to seeing what Denver LGBTQ clubs were like. I was with a good friend and some of her friends, already feeling a little anxious being in a new environment. The owner, Ed, came up to the group, and instead of being welcoming, he mocked the way I was standing as if I was “killing the vibe.” He then pushed me about what was “wrong,” and when I expressed that I didn’t feel comfortable discussing it, he continued to press me while insisting the bar was a “safe space.”
What could have been a supportive moment turned into an uncomfortable interrogation. Instead of creating safety, it felt dismissive and performative. I shouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable in a space that claims to be safe.
I will not be back.

Charlie’s is one of my favorite places to socialize in Denver. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and there’s something going on nearly every night of the week — from themed events to drink specials that won’t break the bank.
The drinks are affordable, the music is always on point, and the staff? Truly some of the friendliest and most fun people around. Whether you're going out with friends or flying solo, it's easy to strike up a conversation and feel right at home.
If you're looking for a laid-back, inclusive, and genuinely good time, Charlie’s is the spot. Can’t recommend it enough!

if i could give it zero stars, i would. i have been discriminated against as a BLACK PERSON twice now in their establishment. if ur in the bathroom more than two minutes, they will assume you’re doing drugs. the bouncer/door boy is beyond incompetent and will try to antagonize you. i would never recommend this bar as a person of color who’s a gay individual.
