This was an excellent restaurant in the past. I haven't been there in a year, and so much has changed. Most importantly, the large kitchen staff is gone. Last night they they managed to serve every meal at every table without ever turning on a stove. It appears everything is now prepared ahead of time and kept frozen, then put in a microwave by the one cook who was in the kitchen. The dishes are the same, but the results are now sad.
The tres leches cake was sublime.

I went to this place to celebrate a friend's birthday. This place was just an okay spot. It's elevated Mexican cuisine. The food wasn't bad but it's not my favorite. I think the wait staff was friendly and helpful with questions on the menu but it seemed a tad difficult with a party of 8 to get someone to come by and the restaurant was mostly empty...on a Friday night. I think if this sort of food is your vibe then go for it but the portions are small for the price you pay. I asked the waiter for a Nojito (Virgin mojito) and he said it couldn't be done. He brought me a virgin margarita that was pretty salty. Then the person down the table got a virgin mojito made and I was a bit annoyed by that. Overall I think it's got potential to be a cool vibe but I didn't actually remember/notice any music in the restaurant and the food wasn't enough to draw me back a second time.

Super happy with the ceviche & the nachos. So glad this place was a hitter. Will be going back.
My girlfriend and I went here last night and had a wonderful time. Our margaritas were delicious, the food was unique and tasty, and our service from Hansel was lovely. Would recommend!

Why do more people not come here?? A hidden gem! Housemade coconut crème for the coconut margarita?? Like who is even doing this. Amazing food amazing service and never too crowded. Also the patio is adorable.
Best Mexican restaurant in Denver. Service 10/10 family run. Food 100/10. Thank you! Unforgettable.

This was simply one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. This restaurant has an identity crisis between trying to be authentic and modern Mexican at the same time. The service was pathetic and the food was bland. I asked people in the bathroom line if they liked their meal and they all felt the same way I did. Bad bad bad.
I’ll use bullets to recap since there were so many issues:
- They didn’t have prices on the vegetarian portion of the menu, which is about 25% of it.
-They charged us for seafood enchiladas when nobody ordered seafood. To pay us back they handed us a $5 bill.
-We had a reservation and it took 10
Minutes to seat us when there were many open and clean tables.
-It took them 20 minutes to bring us our drinks in the beginning of the meal.
-THEY CHARGE YOU FOR CHIPS AND SALSA THAT THEY GIVE YOU WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT!!
-The margarita costs more than a mocktail, both of which were disappointing.
-My meal was tiny and not worth $17. It was also piping hot and burned my mouth.
-I asked for a beer and it took 15 minutes. They also were not knowledgeable about what beers were on tap and I had to ask 3 times for it.
All in all, one of the worst spots to eat in Denver. Do not come here if you are hungry or want a good meal.

Super hopeful for a great experience, but that didn’t happen. We had a reservation for 5:45… around 6:10 I went to the bar to order drinks because no one has been by. I specifically asked for an NA Beer, the bartender said He had a Mexican Lager. Cool, ordered that with 3 margs (6:10ish.)
We had the thought we should get food in because we had somewhere to be. Ordered at 6:15. We got the queso, it was cold and we asked for chips, didn’t get those. 6:35, went to get more drinks, at the bar, lord knows they didn’t come to the table. They tell me they don’t have NA Beer?!? What?! I ask the bartender, he tells me he thought I said “IPA.” And that he “was busy.” That they do not in fact have NA beer. This is HUGE!? This could ruin someone’s life, 3 other people heard him say he had an NA Mexican Lager. Trying to enjoy the night and not be a Karen, we let it go.
After returning to the bathroom one server asks how things are going. My response was something like, “when I ordered an NA Beer I was apparently not given an NA beer, we asked for chips 15 min ago, didn’t get those, and you said our food would be ready in 5 min yet I see no fajitas cooking.” The response by one server was, “have you even ordered yet.” The other server said, yeah you aren’t getting your food for at least 15 min but I can bring your chips. An hour and 15 min later we leave.
Of all the things that went wrong, I’m most disappointed in the fact they blew off the NA thing. Folks, don’t believe the bartender. I need to take my own advice and always see the bottle, but he so confidently said Mexican Lager and if you don’t drink, you know this is a common NA beer places have.
