I had a fanatic time at Denver Cat Cafe playing with all of the adorable adoptable kitties. There are so many fun ways for the cats to play with scaling walls, hiding holes, cat trees, baskets, and boxes. Every kitty was happy and friendly.

The cats are adorable, and the staff was really nice! I'm glad that my money went to a good cause. The customers on the other hand... Are not it lol. Kids are allowed to run after and harass cats leading to them all hiding in the back where they are inaccessible. They then continue to harass the cats though the holes. Adults are guilty of this behavior too. Customers should be told that cats have boundaries too.

To be honest there were more children than cats. No one greeted me when I walked in (could have walked in instead of waste 13 bucks) skipped an argument with my own cat when I went home I guess. 0/10.

Always delightful to stop in. For newbies there is an entrance fee but you can also purchase a year pass if you think you'll go frequently. Google seems to think this is a restaurant but there is no food.

Didn’t expect a fee to come in…a cat cafe is a cool idea but paying to experience cats who are mostly up in their high cubbies or asleep wasnt as cool as it could be. I know there’s no controlling when they want to sleep but more interaction/cats would be nice. the few that did interact were lovely! also as other reviews said if there’s a bad people to cat ratio it’s a bit annoying waiting on people to move & hoping the cats don’t get overwhelmed. also bring a board game or some entertainment or you’re just waiting for cats to wake/ interact.

It takes WAY TOO LONG for adoptions to be completed here!! Waiting 1-2 weeks from time application is submitted to being allowed to take cats home is NOT in any cat’s best interest. Especially for older cats and/or those with with anxiety, being kept in a hectic setting when they have a forever home waiting for them is unforgivable in my opinion. Recently my son put in application to adopt a pair of bonded seniors on the very day they arrived at the cat cafe. He then had to wait 13 days before he could take cats home (Denver Cat Rescue called only 2 of his references a week after applying and then he had to wait 6 more days to pick up cats after being approved). During their time at the cat cafe the female developed a respiratory illness and the male had a bloody wound on his neck. When my son shared concerns for his cats’ health with owner/employees he was first told their “vet would check them out” - which never happened. At a later visit he was told by owner that the male cat had an old collar wound and URIs were common in the first few days after cats come to cafe and that she wasn’t concerned about the female. By the time my son was finally allowed to pick up his cats days later the female still had upper respiratory infection, had lost weight and was dehydrated. She threw up everything she ate or drank for first 18 hours so my son took her to vet where she got fluids, anti-nausea meds and several diagnostic procedures. She could have been spared all that if she hadn’t been forced to spend 2 weeks at the cat cafe. If Denver Cat Company and Denver Cat Rescue truly are cat advocates they will place “adoption pending” cats in their new homes much quicker than they are currently. These poor cats who have already been through too much trauma in their lives should not be used for humans’ entertainment or profit.UPDATE: Owner has replaced her original response to my review but first of her many unsolicited texts (below) shows she started out with quite a different stance. She obviously changed her tune when I refused to remove my review unless she implemented measures to insure no other cats in her care suffer the way my son’s did. He definitely was NOT happy with his adoption experience which his polite emails reflected. Certain types of business owners can justify anything to turn a profit. C’est la vie.

My daughter and I are in the area on vacation and visited this cat cafe. Super cute inside. Very clean. Doesn't smell like cats. Staff was nice. Cats seem very happy. If I could've adopted Professor Proton, I would have. What a wonderful cat. I hope someone loves him. My daughter and I spent a lot of time with him (he's got a half ear, stubby tail, no teeth). He was very sweet and loving and such a nice lap cat. We didn't want to leave him. But sadly, we're only here temporarily :(

if you get to go here, DO IT!!! My sister and I came into town to visit our older sister and while she was working we had to make ourselves busy. They have a student discount, the staff is so polite, and the atmosphere is amazing!!!! We each got a little cat pin and they had other adorable cat themed knickknacks!

Feeling conflicted in writing this, because I love the work you all do, and the cafe itself is wonderful. However, I haven’t gotten an email response yet from the adoption coordinator. I adopted a cat from here in July of 22, to be a companion for my cat Bubbles. We were only told that he didn’t do well around kids, and that he meowed a lot, and that’s why the first family returned him. This was not the case. Upon receiving his adoption paperwork, he was diagnosed by one or two separate vets as being an “Agressive Animal”. Boy is that on point. He bullied my cat mercilessly for almost a year, I figured maybe since they’re boy cats they would work it out. Sadly, Bubbles had a heart attack and passed away in June of 23, only 30 minutes after I took him to the vet. He was my best friend and the closest thing I’ll ever have to a child and he’s gone.I’m writing this after the adopted cat attacked me for the seventh time, giving me several puncture wounds in my forearm. He attacks indiscriminately, and often attacks me when I’m sitting on the couch doing my own thing. I’ve had to be on antibiotics three times, and prescription ointment for the bite wounds. He bites me in my sleep, he bites my partner and has also attacked my mother. We kept him for as long as we did, because my mom grew attached to him. We wanted to be good pet parents and hold onto him after Bubbles had passed, because we think that’s what he would’ve wanted for his brother.I currently have nine bandages on both of my arms. The vet tried to put him on Prozac, but he is impossible to pill. We bought him CBD, Jackson Galaxy oils and even the same cat wheel you have in the window. None of it helped. This last bite was the final straw, and I will be returning him to the rescue by this weekend. If I cannot get a response from the adoption coordinator, I will be taking him to the DFL instead. I live in Parker and I’m not sure I can handle a 40 minute drive with him screaming at me the whole way. If someone would be willing to meet me half way to pick him up, that would alleviate some stress on my part.I really wanted to do right by him, but I am miserable and so is my household. I’m sorry.

I have to say, I was pretty disappointed. We paid $36 for two people and a drink. The cafe was loaded with people, especially rowdy children. Cats were practically nonexistent so it became an experience where we just talked to people. I noticed, too often, that the cats were way too overwhelmed with the number of children running around, yelling, and trying to get the cats’ attention. It broke my heart, honestly. I think there needs to be a cap on the amount of children/people in general. We had very minimal cat interaction for a place that’s supposed to have tons of cats. I get you need to pay for the place to stay open and take care of the cats, but this was more money than we would have liked to spend for an afternoon sip of apple cider.
