We were having a lovely night trying to enjoy our last day visiting Colorado up until the Assistant General Manager,Olivia Gaines came up to our table and gave us a “warning” for apparently being seen pouring alcohol into a glass. The apparent alcohol was the complementary bottle of water they leave at your table when you sit down. She started off by saying there was two underaged dinners at the table even though only one person was asked for their ID and the others not. How could she have known the other two were not of age if they were never asked for their IDs? She shouldn’t assume that someone was underaged without previously having asked for identification, someone not ordering a drink does not directly mean they are underaged. Our waitress was amazing and the food was great but the GMs approach to this ruined our night and we had to leave earlier than we would’ve liked to. Not sure if we will be returning.

One of the best restaurants in Denver for sure. The staff is trained well and cares and it shows. There is just a different approach to service at this type of place. Food was phenomenal. Do the chefs table if you can.

Never go there on new years, service was so bad! and for the price, used to be my favorite restaurant. From 3 entrees, 2 came together and third was not even placed in for some reason. Waited at least 15 min for anyone to even notice we were looking for a server. Pathetic, while a servers were chatting with some staff doing something on their computer, on new years eve.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and while we understood and respected their reservation policy, the overall experience was disappointing due to how it was applied and communicated.
The restaurant is located in an area where parking is extremely limited and difficult to locate, particularly for first-time visitors. Despite arriving in the area early, it took us approximately 15 minutes to secure parking due to the secluded and confusing layout. During this time, my husband received a text message asking us to confirm whether we were on our way, which he promptly confirmed at 6:45 PM.
Given that confirmation, we reasonably assumed our table was still being held. We arrived at 6:55 PM, yet upon checking in, the hostess was immediately dismissive and unprofessional. The only option offered was seating at the bar, with no explanation, empathy, or attempt to accommodate us — despite the fact that we had confirmed our arrival and were celebrating a special occasion.
If a guest confirms they are en route, it defeats the purpose of sending a confirmation message if the reservation is not actually being honored. Clear communication should align with practice, and in this case, it did not.
While policies are understandable and necessary, hospitality and consistency are equally important. The lack of flexibility, professionalism, and warmth at the front desk set a negative tone before we even sat down. For a restaurant positioned as an elevated dining experience, this interaction fell short.
I’m sharing this feedback so future guests are aware that even when confirming arrival via text, the reservation may not be held, and special occasions may not be taken into consideration.

The food here was so good! We had been wanting to try for a while and are so glad we went. The scallops, sea bass and carne paella were all delicious. It’s pricy but worth it.

Beautiful restaurant with amazing views and a very pleasant atmosphere. I tried the seafood paella and the churrasquería cheese; both were good and enjoyable, though not especially memorable. The service was fine, but toward the end I felt slightly rushed despite the restaurant not being full. Overall, a nice experience with room for a few improvements.

Overall I really enjoy El Five. Food is great, service is great and atmosphere is wonderful. I would ask that they rearrange seating a bit. Our table was so close to another table that the person at the table next to us was basically sitting at our table. The chairs were so close, her coat was in our chair and we could not move without hitting the table next to us.
I had a good time with the food but I requested a sweet with a nice view, they said they had it in there nots but I was seated at a 4 person table with two people and the view was very effected by the lights reflecting on the windows. But overall a really great dinner.
