Food is really good, however service is a bit lacking. I asked for a burrito and didn't specify smothered and then it came smothered. Also asked for 3 tacos (just the tacos) and it came with beans and rice although I didn't ask for it.

A Denver staple. This place has been around with the same staff forever. The food is consistently good. The horchata is great on those hot days.

The food is delicious. The restaurant would be 5 stars if the economy was fair.I paid $15 for a very small plate of food.

Went for a bean and cheese burrito smothered. It was They gave me a little soggy tortilla with hardly any beans for 11.25. I just reminded myself why I never came back to this place. Customer service sucks.

we found this place right after moving to Denver and it's been a favorite ever since. So much so that we eventually moved to the neighborhood :-p

I had tried this place years ago because there was a lot of hype around it.I wasn't impressed and didn't go back. Then I saw recently they won some big award. I thought maybe they had improved. So I decided to go back with an open mind.I tried 4 different types of tacos and a green and a red tamale. They were all very underwhelming. The tamales were cold and they reheated them, and they tasted old and dry.The tortillas for the tacos also seemed dry and stale. The meat was tender enough but didn't have a lot of flavor. The taco truck on the corner by my house has better tacos and they're cheaper.Parking: They have a small parking lot in an odd shape. If it's full, the street parking is extremely limited.

Best smothered green chili burritos I've had! Would absolutely encourage anyone in the area to eat here!

El Taco De Mexico is the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Denver! I've been a patron for over 20 years, indulging in what I believe is the best green chili smothered burrito around.

Good breakfast burrito, this style is different with no potatoes but they put rice and beans in it which was a nice change. I think smothered would be better so I’ll be back to try that. It’s also very expensive at almost $10 for a handheld burrito, when I can go to other similar places for $5
