Posole is white not red. I had to add my own salsa to get the flavor. Not recommended

5 stars if it's Diana in the bar
-10 if it's the rude tall dude
I love when Diana bartends! She sweet and gives the right amount of conversation
If the tall guy is in the bar, he is very rude, and we leave! Get a different bar tender, or let friendly Diana bartend

Wonderful establishment, excellent food. Definitely order the Large margarita and watch the room light up. The staff, cooks, and patrons of this restaurant were all such a pleasure. I’ll be back soon!

Worst waitress. The rest of the experience was ok but our server clearly didn't want to be there and we saw her a total of 3 times. Once to take our order after we waited 20 minutes. Once when we had to ask to have her located so we could have our bill and 3rd time to drop off the check. I will be back to the restaurant but I will ask for a different server. Very disappointing after being a customer for a very long time. I updated my review because this night was the Only time I have Ever gotten BAD SERVICE. ONLY THIS WAITRESS.THE REST OF THE STAFF IS AWESOME!!

Monday night, crowd was light, service was quick, food was quick and fresh. Exactly what you should expect! Margareta was a little plain, but decent.
Good staff, good food...but.....not wheelchair accessible bathroom
We called in an order with El Tejado as our first experience with them. I ordered chicken mole with corn tortillas and my wife ordered cheese enchiladas. We also sprung for a side of salsa, queso, and chips. For dessert, we ordered flan. When I arrived for pickup, the staff were friendly and our order was ready very close to the estimated time. While I waited, I watched soccer on the nearby TV.
STARTERS:
One highlight of the dinner was the queso. Their queso is very good because it has a nice level of heat combined with a really good cheese flavor; I hope they never change this because it's hard to stop eating it. I am very picky about salsa and I personally love their salsa. It could be lighter with the onion but the heat level is a perfect (medium-hot) and it has fantastic flavor.
MAIN COURSE:
The chicken mole was tasty and had a good level of heat. The chicken was cooked perfectly as well. My only criticism is that the mole wasn't as sweet as I expected, but it still had good flavor... would definitely order again.
For cheese enchiladas. There's less to criticize here since it is not as complicated as mole, but I did try it and it did have good flavor and texture. My wife also was happy with it.
This is worth mentioning too and is rarely brought up. But the corn tortillas (tlaxcalli) are made extremely well. A lot of places will serve you really dry corn tortillas that fall apart and break so easily...their corn tortillas do not do this. I don't know how they are pulling it off but I love it. Trust me, you don't need to bother with Conquistador tortillas (a.k.a. flour tortillas). Get the real deal here.
DESSERT:
The flan is quite good. The texture is perfectly delicate and the flavor is really dialed in and not overpowering. We would definitely order this again.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
El Tejado is definitely worth stopping for. They have some really good things to try from start to finish. We will definitely be back!
I have been eating and loving El Tejado for decades, but yesterday is probably my last meal there. I love their smothered beef and bean burritos, but for the last several months the burritos have been mostly tortilla, flat and empty!! I’m done!!
