Ellington’s looks charming from the outside, but the experience inside was a letdown overall. The interior felt very dull and lacked the warmth or atmosphere we expected.
The biggest issue was communication. One of the days we were scheduled to dine there, the restaurant was closed for a private event—but neither Ellington’s nor the hotel informed us ahead of time. We only found out when we arrived for our reservation, which was incredibly frustrating. The hostess we encountered was also quite rude, which added to the disappointment.
That said, the food itself was genuinely very good, though many items felt overpriced for what was served. Our waiter, however, was exceptional—kind, attentive, and extremely accommodating, even as our group continued to grow. He was the highlight of the experience.

We always enjoy our post-holiday breakfast at Ellyngton's. Service, location, food, decorations! All top-notch. Thank you for another great time.
They were understaffed. It took two hours just to have breakfast. The lights were too bright. It felt like we were sitting in a cafeteria. The food was ok but nothing special. We won't be going back anytime soon. This is not how I remember or what I would expect from the Brown Palace!
We stayed at Brown Palace Hotel recently and went there for breakfast. We were initially seated and given menus and water. We sat there looking at others getting service and no one coming to our table. The place wasn't that busy. Eventually we decided to leave. Will never go there again. This reflects poorly on the hotel as well to have a restaurant lease given to such a restaurant.

I echo similar reviews of late. This is not the place I remember.
Physically the unique decor has been stripped.
We walked in and I felt like we were in a soup kitchen. No music, no welcome, no color. Bill was $200+ before tip and the only saving grace was the amazing waiter. He somehow juggled 8 tables with care and empathy. It’s just such a shame the environment didn’t reflect his effort.

Amazing experience! Dawa was hands down the best server, extremely attentive and genuinely awesome. He went above and beyond to make our birthday visit unforgettable. Thank you!
There are much better places to eat breakfast!!! The breakfast food wasn't worth the money, the wonderful brunch they once had doesn't exist anymore; therefore, I don't think we will ever go again. It took a very long time for us to receive our dishes! The atmosphere is extremely dry, no artwork on the wall to view. It's feels more like a hospital cafeteria.
The photos of the restaurant is from years ago. The current restaurant looks like a church basement cafeteria. White walls, while floor, black chairs and black table cloth.

My son and I enjoyed a lovely Christmas Day brunch at Ellygton's. The service was top notch. The ambiance, especially the lobby of the Brown Palace, was festive. The food was just right. There were many families who seemed to be enjoying a holiday tradition.
It is a long-standing tradition for Thanksgiving and Christmas. My only complaints are the dedicating that was done on Ellyington's a little over a year ago. The walls that used to have such elegant charms are now an austere white and beige. The other complaint was our server. She was very nice, efficient and as helpful as she could be given that she spoke little English. She couldn't understand us nor could we understand her.

First off I’d like to say that service was exceptional. Everyone was very attentive and friendly. The food options and atmosphere on the other hand….terrible. We went for the brunch with Santa and were thoroughly disappointed. Very few food options, only meat options were chicken, ham and prime rib. Sad salad options, no desserts. For 3 adults and two kids, the bill was $520 including tip. Felt like I was robbed for what was included in the price. Unfortunately can’t recommend this event until they provide more options and a better atmosphere

We booked a table for thanksgiving brunch . Honestly I was not impressed at all. The buffet lacked a lot of stuff.
The restaurant looks a whole lot different so does the buffet . No omelette station, no pancakes or waffles 🧇, no salad 🥗 station ,
Protein was only salmon, turkey and prime rib, ( no chicken) cheese was on a plate with just 3 choices and dessert was really mediocre. For what I’ve seen online I really had high expectations especially paying $110 per person (mimosa is extra) we were entertaining family from overseas and this restaurant really is basic. Big disappointment. Staff was very nice. We honestly should have just drove to the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. I don’t know how the Brown Palace is rated 5 star . Big disappointment. Our bill was $330 for 3ppl. What a waste!!

Went for the first time to Ellyngton’s and it was disappointing. It looks nothing like the photos decor wise, looked like card tables set up with black tablecloths. Boring looking. Food was ok, nothing special. The Christmas decorations were minimal.
I was overall disappointed. The photos on line apparently are from a while ago, they showed very nice decor, elegant looking. Now it's drab. White walls, light colored floor, it had a “cold feel” to it. Looked like card tables with black tablecloths thrown over them. No nice small table center piece. The food was ok, service was very good. The three piece band was a nice touch but a bit loud. Disappointed for what I expected to experience at a Brown Palace restaurant.
Overall, we had a great experience. I was VERY disappointed to learn that Sunday brunch is no longer served as it used to be prior to COVID. My sole choice in choosing Ellyngton's was to enjoy the fantastic brunch they used to serve. The wait staff was exceptionally courteous and made sure our bill was properly adjusted when they learned our food was not delivered correctly. The food was incredibly good, served hot, and in a timely manner.
