Vegas has flash — Denver has soul. More room, more energy, and an atmosphere that feels like a mezcal-fueled fever dream done right.
Let’s talk legends: Shane and Kaci. These two are absolute superstars. Behind the bar, it’s not just service — it’s a bloody performance. Kaci mixes like a chemist with a vendetta, and Shane’s got the kind of energy that makes you feel like you’ve known him for years. Friendly, lightning-fast, and sharper than a chef’s knife.
Now the drinks… Burro Tropical — sweet mother of cocktails — this one’s the crown jewel. Balanced, tropical, a touch of heat — it’s the kind of drink that stops conversation. Hands down, one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had.

The atmosphere was great and the drinks were solid — definitely a nice, aesthetic spot to hang out. Unfortunately, the customer service really took away from the experience.
Our server never cleared our table, forgot one of our drinks three times, and was generally rude. I asked for a michelada — which seemed like a reasonable request given it's a Mexican-inspired bar — and pronounced it correctly with my Spanish accent. She responded with, “I don’t know what you’re telling me,” in a dismissive tone. It felt uncomfortable and unnecessary.
We also tried to pay using an app that offers discounts at participating bars, and this bar was clearly listed under Denver. The server immediately shut it down and insisted that “it must be for a location in New York.” When we spoke to the bartender, they were kind and helpful — they confirmed we could use the app and made the process easy. The server then came back visibly annoyed that we’d asked someone else for help.
If she was unfamiliar with the app, or the drink, a simple “let me check” would have gone a long way. It’s disappointing because the bartender was great and the venue itself is beautiful. I’d consider coming back — just hope for a different server next time.

Tonight at Ghost Donkey, during one of the craziest rushes I’ve ever seen, Shane and Max absolutely blew me away. I’ve never written a review before, but their performance behind the bar was so impressive that I felt like I had to share it.
The place was packed, the energy was wild, and the orders were nonstop, but Shane and Max handled it all like seasoned pros. Shane worked with incredible precision and speed, crafting cocktails that didn’t just taste amazing but looked like works of art. Despite the chaos, he stayed friendly and composed, taking time to make great drink recommendations and even cracking a few jokes while hustling through the madness.
Watching Shane and Max work together was like watching a perfectly choreographed performance. They never missed a beat, even when the pressure was at its peak. The level of professionalism, skill, and charisma they brought to the table turned what could have been a chaotic experience into a highlight of the night.
I’ve been to plenty of bars, but I’ve never been so impressed that I felt compelled to write a review—until now. Shane and Max are the dream team, and if you’re lucky enough to catch them behind the bar at Ghost Donkey, you’re in for an unforgettable experience.

I was visiting Denver for a wedding and found this place by pure luck. LIZ- you’re an OG, salt of the earth, and I hope your company recognizes how valuable and amazing you are. This place was very clean, the team literally made my night and gave the best suggestions for food and drinks. My bartenders were Kaci and Ciara and they were so fun and sweet. They all turned a bad day into an amazing night. I will literally tell all my Denver friends about ghost donkey, there’s no comparison.

My sister recommended ghost donkey and it did NOT disappoint. The drinks and food were phenomenal, I’m definitely coming back for happy hour. Liz, the manager I believe, was making rounds to check on everyone, which I’m not used to at my other favorite bars in LoDo - she hyped me up on a bad mental health day and all of the staff were prompt with service and drinks and all seemed to have such a great flow together. Kaci and Cierra were also very attentive and friendly and gave me great recommendations for drinks. Being in the service industry I can already see this is a solid location with solid staff.
