Staff is always timely even when they have a full house. The bill won't shock you. Reminds me of a cafe in Chicago I loved to visit.

We have made reservations at Great Northern in the past and it has been amazing! However, after this time we will not be going back. Upon sitting down, the waiter came over and started tell us all of the beer that they didn’t have on draft after seeing our favorites were out we decided to go with a bottle of wine. The wine was not only expensive but also horrible. We had a party of 6 of after finishing the wine we decided to go with a different bottle and when we requested different glasses we were informed that they were out of wine glasses. When we ordered the waiter told us that they were not informed on how to use the restaurant week special that we came in for and we were told that 3 items on that menu that they were out of as well. When she brought us our food it all came at once (appetizer, salad and entree) and steak knifes didn’t come as well. It was a horrible dining decision and we will not be back. Not only because of the service but also due to the decline of food quality.

We went on a Sunday evening for an earlier dinner. There were some vacant tables that filled up before we left. We used to go to this restaurant quite a bit, but do not live as close now. The atmosphere is warm, a lot of wood and the fire for the food is going. Parking a bit tight, better that the fitness place is vacant. The menu is nice, a lot of variety and the food was good. Good sized portions. The service that night was not awesome, I’m thinking that they staffed for a slower night, as the hostess was clearing tables and serving food, as well as management.

Friendly staff.. The reason I gave it a three star which I would assume stands for not bad not amazing, is because it wasn't too busy and we still had to wait a bit to even get a glass of water. The food was really good I had some street tacos, not enough salsa and they were kinda small ? but that's okay. I would recommend it and I would go back.

Absolute garbage made reservations for Valentine's day show up 10 minutes before I reservation to let them know we are there about 30 minutes goes by before they ask who we are again after about 45 minutes we finally get seated, a waiter comes by not very fast with water asks us if there's anything else we want, didn't have two different beers on the drink menu, we place an order for an appetizer (nachos) come out fairly quick and are decent, then we place an order for a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and another order for a buffalo burger with pepper jack cheese bacon, avocado and chips on the side, it takes forever for food to come out when it does come out the chicken fried steak has Rice not mashed potatoes with it, the burger was ordered medium rare and comes out burnt with no pepper jack cheese and No bacon, I catch the server who then proceeds to go back to the kitchen and come back and says oh sorry it'll be awhile on the mashed potatoes takes the burger back and says it won't be very long finally with still no burger or mashed potatoes we say why don't you just put the burger in a box since you've already ruined the night, they still can't get the order right and put the burger in a to-go box with fries not chips like we originally ordered, the manager finally comes over and barely apologizes and takes the food items off of our check, thanks for ruining my Valentines dinner will never be going to this place again and I would NOT recommend it......

Ended up here after a bad experience at Bonefish. What a pleasant surprise! We were sat right away, service was prompt and friendly. Best of all they have some great burgers! Picture flames broiled, like Burger King but NOT mass produced and with high quality meat. We’ll be back!

So so. Drink menu was extremely stale. Interior was pleasant as well as the decor. Seemed a little under staffed. I Wonder if the menu changes or just stays the same? Seems like a place that would be awesome with a little work.

Gotta be honest, I was surprised at the negative reviews. Certainly, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I have had very positive experiences here over the past 15+ years. I have met friends here for happy hour, brought in a team from China for a private reception and dinner, and even dined with my own family here. I love that the kitchen is open and that you can see what they are preparing and their attentiveness to having a clean place. Are they overdue for a facelift? Probably so. Is the job market tight and they probably have some turn-over? Probably that too. Are today's customers filled with people that are incredibly hard to please and won't tolerate any inconveniences or mistakes? From my 50-year-old perspective, definitely so. So, to management/ownership - probably time to consider some upgrades and refresh. To the dining public, I would fully recommend Great Northern to one an all. Everyone just remember to be human to each other and "do unto others what you would have them do to you".
