I recently had a layover at Denver International Airport and, as luck would have it, stumbled upon Half Moon Empanadas. Being a bit of a sweet tooth, I decided to treat myself to the Dulce De Leche and Cream Cheese Empanada. Let me just say—it was heavenly.
The moment I took my first bite, I was transported. The empanada was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, and the inside was a delightful explosion of flavors. The rich, caramel sweetness of the dulce de leche paired with the smooth, tangy cream cheese created a perfect balance. It wasn't too sweet, which made it even more enjoyable.
What made the experience even better was the friendly service. The staff were welcoming and quick, understanding that airport food often needs to be both good and efficient. They nailed it on both counts.
If you find yourself at Denver International Airport, do yourself a favor and stop by Half Moon Empanadas. Trust me, the Dulce De Leche and Cream Cheese Empanada is worth every calorie—and then some. It turned my layover into a memorable culinary delight.

I ordered the beef and chicken empanadas with coffee. Unfortunately it was not what I hoped for. Very dry and hard and the meat filling over salted.

Pretty bangin' as far as airport empanadas go. Had the three cheese and the spicy chicken. Def preferred the cheese, the chicken was a little dry. Both were plenty hot, though I suspect the spicy chicken was less fresh. Better than your standard airport fare for sure.
I wish I didn’t have to go to the airport to have these.

They are not worth it got 2 beef empanadas nasty as hell. Taco Bell meat had better flavor. Not worth $14 don’t waist your money.

Early open spot before plane arrival and wanted to try the empandas that looked crispy on the out side shell. The shell was good a little on the dry side but overall pretty good. Feelings of ham and cheese and spinach were not bad for breakfast.

Almost didn’t stop due to the ratings. Pleasantly surprised that the beef and spicy beef empanadas were fresh and delicious. Not cheap, but what is at an airport. Definitely will stop there again next time.through Denver Airport

A lucky find for a quick grab and go lunch on a 35-minute layover! Back home, I'm used to empanadas as a dessert. These savory meat-filled empanadas are fantastic! I had the classic beef and the classic chicken. Highly recommend both if you're running through the airport. Doesn't matter to me if they're a chain or not; the time they take to toast in their shop name on the empanada pastry is a win!

Mediocre and choice
of veggie versions for a place specializing in empanadas leaves a lot to be desired.

Good empanadas for an airport. I recommend the beef which is their most popular. One is not quite enough to fill so I got a bag of chips as a side. Very quick if you’re pressed on time.

I’m surprised at the low review score so I decided to give my opinion. This is the first time I have had an empanada and the taste was really good so was the service. Thank you
