We tried several bakeries before deciding on Happy Bakeshop for our wedding desserts because they had the best flavor and texture. We got an 8" cake for cutting and an assortment of mini cookies and bars. Response time was a little slow sometimes, but overall we were very pleased!

I’ve loved the mini cupcakes we have gotten from here, so we ordered a birthday cake for my kiddo’s birthday and provided a reference photo for the decoration. We were never told that a new decorator would be doing our cake and our request for an airplane would be hard for that person to do. I called the store when we picked up the cake to let them know we were disappointed with how it turned out and they said they didn’t have the reference photo on hand and a new decorator without much experience did the cake. They just apologized, but didn’t do anything to make it right (like the sticker says on their box). That wasn’t a huge deal until we cut into the cake and realized it wasn’t very good — the cake tasted old and dry. We thought it tasted more like cornbread than vanilla.

I ordered a cake two weeks before my trip to Denver and it literally looked like they baked the cake that day. When I got it, the cake looked completely fine. Once I cut the cake I was very disappointed, the bread was to hard not even moist and it was a tone of frosting. I love sweets and it was only the frosting in a cake form. I place the order for a cake because I was so excited for all the reviews + was close to my hotel but definitely not coming back, I and paid almost 50 bucks for that cake and definitely not worth it. They have a really nice and friendly person at the counter. Other than that very disappointed. Thank you anyway. At least my mother was able to have a birthday cake, even though it wasn't what I expected.

UPDATE: The response from the owner is disingenuous and false. The employee I spoke with on the phone was the same employee I had emailed with previously about the order. There was no confusion about the status. I asked multiple times to confirm on the phone that my order would be ready for pickup on the agreed upon date and that everything was set.

By the way, I called the number provided by the owner this morning with no response. I assume this reply and all the others on their other 1 star reviews are just a false attempt to save face online. As stated previously, STAY AWAY! HAPPY BAKESHOP IS NOT A HAPPY PLACE!

Stay away!

Similarly to what many others have noted in their 1 star reviews, I ordered and confirmed a customer cupcake order for my 6 year old daughter's birthday only to arrive to pick them up and be told they had no record of the order and would not fulfill the order.

I submitted an online request for 24 puppy-themed cupcakes on Tuesday September 24th for my daughter's birthday party on Saturday the 28th. Happy bakeshop responded quickly via email to confirm the order and to ask a few additional questions, as well to to make sure I was fine picking the order up on Friday evening before the party to accommodate their bakery schedule.

I called the bakery back on Wednesday the 25th at 1:30pm (I have all the phone records). I spoke with the bakery staff for 5 minutes. During this phone call I confirmed that we approved of the puppy designs they had sent, approved the flavors of the cupcakes (4 of them being gluten free), and confirmed that I would be there to pick the order up on Friday at 5:00pm the evening before the party. Before hanging up I confirmed a second time that I would be there at 5:00pm to pick up the customer order.

Flash forward to Friday at 5:00pm... I arrive wife my daughter who has been excited to pick up her puppy cupcakes all day. The staff member working there told me they had no record of my order. I showed him both the email and the record of my phone call. He told me they would make it right and that he just needed to get in touch with the baker. I left him with my name and phone number. He called back about 30 minutes later and told me the baker informed him they would not actually be able to fulfill the order since "they are so busy tomorrow."

Now my daughter is devastated and we are scrambling to figure out an alternative for her puppy themed party tomorrow. Shame on Happy Bakeshop. This place is anything but happy.

Disappointing. They missed an important note on my order which devastated my best friend on their birthday. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The team at Happy did an amazing job for a custom cake we ordered. It was delicious and they got the instructions exactly right. I was so pleased - the entire party couldn’t stop talking about the cake.

I tried this place for the first time today and got the lavender honey cupcake. The cake was so dry, and the frosting was too sweet. So disappointing. Quality assurance and consistency is so important when it comes to food. These should not have been put out and sold.

It is very rare that you will see a one-star review from me, but the reason for ordering from this small business is one: to support small businesses, as I am an event planner and work with a number of small businesses and two: needing dessert for a celebration. A gender reveal to be exact. When the couple went in for the cake, they were so disappointed because the photo that they sent to this company was not what was delivered sadly. They wanted three layers of the gender color, but there was only one, which was very hard to see and the blue color was not a distinct blue either. It was funny and sad at the same time when the couple took a double take at the inside of the cake. All of the guests and even the couple were confused. If it wasn’t for me being in the front row and screaming, “IT’S A BOY!,” no one would have known the gender until later. We also ordered cupcakes as well and the flavors were different, which the guests enjoyed.I hope that they can do better and perhaps we will have a better experience if we order from here again.

When I was forced to work in the Darwinist hell of executive higher education administration (I call those my “lost years”) my staff used to bring Happy Bakery cupcakes for special occasions, I loved them.Thursday afternoon was the first time since the pandemic that I’ve been able to return to Happy Bakery. I even told the girl working at the shop to forgive me if I burst into excited tears like a huge baby. I wish I had not returned; I had a pretty terrible experience. There were no excited tears. The first red flag was being charged for more than I’d ordered/was served. I returned to the store to address this to the girl at the shop immediately after getting to my car and looking at my receipt. Then, after hyping up these once glorious cupcakes to my partner all day I was grossly disappointed to find each cupcake to be dried to the point of crumbling unpleasantness. The flavors of some seemed to be just nonexistent or terribly muted. This was not what I remember from the shop; the quality and service I received was fairly appalling. There was most assuredly *no* Happy in these baked goods, only the flavor of rage and regret. So disappointing.
