I dined with a group on 10/2 and ordered the salmon, which has long been my go-to entree at Hillstone. Unfortunately, the moment our entrees were served, the rancid smell of spoiled fish overwhelmed our booth. After just one small bite, I became physically ill and had to excuse myself to the restroom to vomit.

When I came back the server, Kaitlyn had boxed up the salmon and insisted I take it home with me. I explained that the fish smelled terrible and let her know It had made me sick. I was met with an overexaggerated, strange, fake smile, gaslighting and her assuring me no one else had complained about it that evening. There was no offer of a replacement dish, and I ultimately paid for a piece of rancid fish that I threw away immediately. I left starving, and ended up eating a bowl of cereal at home.

As someone who has been a loyal patron of the Denver Hillstone for over a decade and spent my entire upbringing frequenting the Dallas Preston Center Houston's, this experience was especially disappointing. Hillstone has always set the standard for quality and service, which is why this visit felt so out of character for the brand. It quite honestly was (almost) as disappointing as the Steak being removed from the Thai Steak & Noodle Salad.

I’ve been coming to Hillstones since they opened n Denver. Tonight I was asked to move to the patio after 2 hour dinner and spending $$$$. Absolutely disgusted w service. Thanks Jacob. I hope everyone goes somewhere else for business dinners. So disappointed!

Never order from the take out menu. They don’t include everything and charge the same price. No fries etc., and if you order a side like coleslaw, you’ll have to eat it with your fingers! No plastic service available. The smug twenty something male “Manager” tried to excuse his rude pompous attitude by saying most prefer to eat “IN”. Don’t offer Take out then!!! Terrible customer service.

Great meal! Good service, a little slow in the water refills. Love the art and the moody vibe.

First time at Hillstone Denver and it was a great experience!
I had the steak and my wife went with the fried chicken sandwich — both were excellent. We also tried the seasonal artichoke appetizer, and honestly, it might be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Can’t wait to go back!

Good Lord. A whole group of us are done with #Hillstone after Friday, August 8th treatment at the Cherry Creek Hillstone restaurant. I've lived in and frequented the Cherry Creek restaurants for 30 years. From 4 to 6 pm, we were approached 4 times in 2 hours to essentially move away from the bar if we wouldn't allow an immediate setup for dinner -- that is, we are at a bar. It is happy hour. We are going to enjoy a glass of wine and decompress for awhile before we order food. We don't want a big, old thick napkin placemat, and then a roll of silverware and a giant menu in our way. When we are ready to eat, we will get all of that. What we learned very quickly is that if we didn't eat as fast as they wanted us to, 4 different people have quite obviously been trained to approach us & question our motives. 4 employees inside of 90 minutes with: Are you going to eat? Anytime soon? This is hospitality for a regular who routinely spends $100 or more per person there? There are too many terrific Cherry Creek restaurants. Hillstone is no longer on that list. You're morphed into a corporatized joke. And that goes for your bartenders who accept big cash wads to put reserved signs in front of open barstools. Hope they're also making a nice living doing so. 😜#notforme #hillstone #hillstonenonsense.

I love this restaurant. However I was schooled by the hostess because I had a child with me and my reservation was only for 4 people. The hostess said to me that I am lucky that she could accommodate us at this time.
Not a very good approach to a customer. Things changed in my plans and I told her that. However she still schooled me.
Otherwise, I’m in Denver 3 times a year and always treat this restaurant as my first choice. I will come back again.

We used to frequent this place, however last 2 times we have visited we’ve waited over an hour for our food.
We then thought we could order food to go to avoid the wait and again had to wait 30 mins after it was to be ready for a 55 min wait for food.

Unfortunate they can’t get a sandwich out of the kitchen in under an hour

The grilled chicken salad is incredibly delicious!
