We often go to the Denver Botanical Gardens. While at the two cafes they are good about providing recycling and composting, they do not allow filling one's mug or beverage container, as most other cafes such as Starbucks does.

Sanzy took great care of us today! She provided answers to all our questions regarding ingredients, and did so in a timely manner. We enjoyed the ranch very greatly. As well as the ducks that joined us during our meal. WILL RETURN!!!!

I'm a big fan of the Botanic Gardens, and love the Hive restaurant. Great outdoor venue with good food. Salads are made fresh and, in season, made from food grown at the gardens. It's a nice place to hang out and enjoy a good meal. Sometimes the lines are long, so if you go at peak times, plan for a wait. But hey, you are surrounded by beauty as you wait in line.

Parking: During peak season, it can be difficult to find parking. I usually walk and enjoy the stroll from 20th to the garden along gaylord street.

Cafes in places like the Botanic Gardens are typically meh. Hive Garden Bistro is an exception to this rule. The place was crowded since it was a beautiful day, and clearly, they have a reputation for good food. The setting is, of course, beautiful, but the food is also fantastic. We had salads and BLTs, and they were delicious. The bacon was real, the avocado was fresh, and the bread was tasty. What a treat!

Kid-friendliness: Loads of kids having a great time!

Thanks Ki'monte, I might not know the actual spelling of your name but I do know you have compassion for helping my diabetic dad with food even though you guys were winding down the kitchen to get ready for site closure. Much appreciated!!!

Great place by a reflection pool outdoors in the gardens. It has local ingredients, healthy options, plant based options, and it’s real tasty! Seriously wish I had a pass to just eat here more often.

Vegetarian options: About half veg and a lot can be modified to be.

I think we caught them on an off day. They weren't making pizza or espresso, but didn't know until after we'd ordered and paid in the case of the latter. The grilled cheese sandwich was bland. I had to go back and ask for parts of my order they didn't make originally, even though there was no one else there. The patio in the gardens is lovely, but they need to step up the food.

There are two eateries at The Denver Botanic Garden. Enjoying the beautiful and warm day, we opted for the Hive Garden Bistro that only has outdoor seating. We shared a vegetable sandwich ($14). Expecting a grilled veggie sandwich, we were pleasantly surprised with the raw veggie sandwich of tightly packed lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, onion (no raw sprouts) and a tasty thick aioli. For an upcharge of $2, we had sweet potato fries. There was an outdoor pizza oven but no pizzas were being made. Date of experience: October 2023
