I have never visited their cafe as I live out of state, but I was sent a bag of the Civitas roast as a gift. This was right up my alley. I love a strong black coffee and this was very smooth, no bitterness as some coffees tend to be.
Effie is so sweet! We had a wonderful chat and she made me a delicious matcha. The breakfast burritos are very yummy, the bathroom impeccably clean, and the atmosphere is perfectly peaceful for a coffee meetup or nice place to journal/do paperwork. The whole place is very clean, pleasant and wonderful. I’ll be back :)
Personally I found this coffee shop to be a bad value. For starters breakfast for two people (2 coffee beverages, 2 pastries, 1 avocado toast) cost ~$42.00 including tip. With this we were given the two pastries in a paper bag, no plates for the pastries. The 16oz coffee which was $5.50 (not including tip) was hollow tasting, it had bitter sharp notes with little to no richness to balance the flavor. In terms items to add to the coffee the options were limited to a sweetner product...
