Jax never disappoints. Delicious oysters and fish, lots of delicious sides and drinks are always awesome. Service is always on point too!
Everything was fantastic! Friends from out of town were impressed with the entire experience.
Im a regular here, and the people working here are always so kind and accommodating. The oysters are delicious, and the martinis are divine!!!
Group of four adults and 2 11 year olds. We went in September 2025 and I must admit, loved the food. We even risked having raw oysters before our flight back to the SF Bay Area. The seafood platter was not over cooked; hate it when my crabs are over cooked and there's no succulent juiciness to the seafood. The halibut and scallops were delicious and not over cooked either. However, the Louisiana crawfish gumbo tasted more like red bean and rice then gumbo; three of the adults are from NOLA and they all said it was tasty but it was not gumbo....lol. Definitely would come back. Until next time!
The food was really good, especially the oysters. It was a little loud and hard to hold a conversation at times and the booth we were seated at was really small for four people, but we made it work. We were not happy though when we received the check and there was a 20% administrative fee added. Just raise menu prices to off-set the increased cost of the food instead of adding something that is calculated on the entire bill. That would be more preferable. It would also benefit the waitstaff because I overheard people discussing and assuming this was a tip, so I am sure the waitstaff have lost tips because of this administrative fee.
Shocked by how bad the service was. I considered asking a manager to waive the 20% required service charge, it was horrible.
Got different oysters from the ones we ordered, but they were good. Been many times and love Jax!
I have been coming to Jax for a very long time (10+ years) and it's always amazing. The food is fresh and delicious, the drinks are on point and the service is excellent. They have a wonderful happy hour with lots of variety. I recently cut out dairy and gluten and had no problem enjoying the happy hour menu. The server was helpful and confirmed ingredients for me - super easy.
This old school fish house could be on the Eastern seaboard. Very fresh offerings, great oysters and mussels, nice fish, authentic vibe, and in an interesting area of Denver near the Train Station. Our server was first rate - laid back and efficient. My one complaint would be about the differing size portions of the same dish. Two in our party ordered halibut, but one portion was a small, flat, thin piece, presumably a tail piece, while the second was thick, wide, and probably an ounce plus more. Both cost the same, not sold by weight. Both were tasty, however.
We visited the lodo location to celebrate my dad's 75th birthday which I added on my reservation note. I expected a better table. The food was really good but in my opinion it was overpriced. Our waitress was good; however, she brought ice cream at the end (which we did not order) to celebrate happy birthday which I thought was a nice touch but to my surprise we were charged for it. I doubt we will visit Jax and at this point I cannot recommend it.

Great Menu, choices and staff! Wide selection of fresh oysters. Blue crab cacio de pepe was excellent. Same for gumbo.
What a wonderful experience we had at Jax. Loved our server and had some delicious seafood. It started with the absolute best oil and bread combo we have ever had! Then we ordered the mussels in Chardonnay broth, the Lure, and scallops. We will return. Thank you!
We had a wonderful meal before the ballgame. Drinks were excellent, shrimp and oysters were too! The fish sandwiches, tacos and lobster rolls were all outstanding. Great service. It's noisy but in a fun way. A great place to eat - consistent year after year. Reservations recommended.
Heads up, this might be a little long, but only because I have so many good things to say! First off, I noted in our OpenTable reservation that I'd be on crutches and hoped for a table where they wouldn't be in the way. Not only did the team acknowledge that, they gave us an incredibly thoughtful and spacious table, one that could have seated 4 or 5 people, on a busy Friday night. The hostess was so kind and accommodating, and it genuinely set the tone for the evening. Now, onto the food and drinks... I was thrilled to see a Muscadet on the menu (hard to find and perfect with oysters—thank you for having that). The CrackerJack oysters were exactly what I want in an East Coast oyster and somehow only $3 each. The Niçoise salad was spot on and how it should be done, and easily the best I've had in years. And my boyfriend's lobster roll was elegant and beautifully curated as well. Huge compliments to the kitchen. And lastly, anyone serving a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Rosé already wins points with me. And most importantly, Clare! She delivered some of the best service I've had in a long time. Warm, attentive, and just a joy throughout the whole evening. Honestly, the whole team was exceptional. I really needed a nice night out, and this went above and beyond in every way. Thank you all, what a truly lovely crew!
Top notch service. Fun atmosphere, somewhat loud and casual. Food was fantastic but overpriced. Over $100 per person with apps and drinks.
