Jax offered a decent meal experience albeit pricey. Staff was all very welcoming and friendly. While the bar area had ample staffing there seemed to be only two servers and one assistant for the entire restaurant which made interaction with the server almost non existent. That stated the overwhelmed server we had was friendly the few times we saw her and was doing the best she could. The food was decent but they love their spices and the MauiMaui was served with a paste that had a nip to it that was a bit much for my taste. The bread, served in a butter oil type sauce, was very good but again the sauce was strongly spiced. The chocolate oil cake and Ceaser salad were average. On the flip side the crab cake was excellent with chunks of crab. My wife enjoyed her salmon dish. The atmosphere was a bit loud and the air was set colder than it needed to be. Overall while I was glad to have tried Jax I'm not sure I'd go back as it did not seem up to the very high prices they have. For the prices I had hoped for a higher level experience. A better experience can be found elsewhere at more reasonable prices.

Jax is a Denver classic. I started going here when I worked up the street 15+ years ago. Denver has changed so much in that time - but Jax has consistently stayed the same - amazing seafood, a fun beverage program, and excellent service are always on the menu. Tonight I had the seafood chowder. I chose it because it's a bit chilly out. It was absolutely perfect. I also had a cocktail from the specials menu called the acid trip - it was transcendental!

A great spot downtown. All the things you’d expect from a top-notch place: a great happy hour (all day on Mondays!), amazing and friendly service, and of course perfectly-done drinks and eats.But what really sets it apart is that the staff has consistently went above and beyond every time I’ve visited. Little touches to make my friends and I feel special. Major shoutout to the staff and especially our waiter Elica for always going one step beyond with service and hospitality.Will definitely be back for another happy hour soon!

We enjoyed a great late dinner at Jax in LoDo. The oysters were perfectly prepared and some of the best we've had. All of the dishes from our appetizer to our fish entrees were incredibly delicious and full of multiple levels of flavor. This was our second visit and even better than our first. We will make this a staple for Denver seafood eateries.
Amazing experience and my favorite seafood restaurant. This review is long overdue and it's been a year since I visited - clearly this restaurant is still on my mind! The quality of the fish here is incredible, the staff was friendly and the drinks were good. We tried to walk-in without a res (big mistake) but made a reservation for the very next day. It was extremely busy but we never felt pressured to eat quickly. Definitely recommend the calamari. Jax will be my go-to spot whenever visiting Denver.

Was it ridiculously crowded and loud? Yeah. Lol. But that’s ok. The amazing food and excellent, friendly service made up for it. Those tater tots will live in my psyche for years to come. They will haunt me until I die.
