Came in tonight with 2 friends that have never tried kava. Kavasutras dont have any mixers any more at all, they dont carry the kava shots on the menu and the kava tender was NOT friendly and made my friends feel very unwelcome. What happenes to this place? The vibe was bad, the menu is a complete joke now and friends didnt feel welcomed at all. I have come here for years and recently every time I visit its worse. Officially worst kava bar in Colorado now

This is my absolute go to kava bar. You wont find better prices on drinks. Environment is pretty relaxed. Everyone is pretty friendly can easily make new friends.

Great place to chill, especially if you are a non drinker/sober. It is a sober bar. The staff is fantastic, each person a different background and story, good people. Thankful to have this place to go to when I’ve no clue what else to do, don’t want to be at bars, don’t want to be at home etc. it’s a checkpoint for me at this rate

My girlfriend & I stumbled upon Kavasutra recently and were wonderfully surprised. All of the Kavatenders greeted us upon arrival and constantly ensured our drinks were full. Two large, built in televisions are situated right behind the bar playing sports games and other various, visually entertaining programs throughout the day|night. Happy hour specials are insane, their product is fantastic and everyone in the community is friendly, welcoming, nice looking, down to earth, fascinating & quite hilarious. Not a place for the softies & extreme lefties though, which is honestly a breath of fresh air for the overly saturated, blue Denver. Walking distance from Capitol Hill, Kavasutra knows exactly how to run a bar, with good times with friends on the daily.

Stopped in while on vacation in Denver. The kavatender Matt (I think?) was very friendly and welcoming. Even when it got busy he made sure to check in on everyone and it was evident he puts a lot of thought and energy into creating a great environment and community here. If I'm ever back in Denver this is the first place I would try to go. If you like or are interested in kava.Many kava bars are more like kava lounges, which are cool in their own way. But kavasutra has the same setup of a classic bar and as someone who doesn't consume alcohol much anymore it's kind of fun to be in that setting but drinking kava.
