Server did not communicate the king salmon toro came aburi style, and the fish was overcooked. Nigiri also came with wasabi despite explicit request to leave it off. Service was severely lacking, food was okay, can get better at Temaki Den or Bamboo Sushi. For charging $8/piece of fish you would think they care what they serve.

Delicious omakase, elegant ambience, and friendly service. Dragon ball theme cocktails were a fun touch. Cool, modern spin on bibingka and very tasty too. The menu is priced higher but for special occasions and as far as quality goes, worth it. Had a really positive experience overall.

Visiting from Chicago and came by since the reviews looked great and was right down the street. They recommended we try the sea bream and it was amazing!

Reservation for 7:30. Ordered 3 rolls immediately and asked them to serve as they become ready. 2/3 were cold rolls so they shouldn't take long but we didn't get our first roll til 8:25. The waitress apologized but didn't specify what for, so I assume she forgot to put in the order. Anyways, the rolls were gross. My gf and I love sushi and we barely ate any. Auto-grat 20% makes sense since I wouldn't have tipped much for this experience so I'm sure this is nothing new to them.
pros:
- fish portions and quality
- nice service
cons:
- menu variety and options
- uncomfortable atmosphere
giving it 3 stars because for the price/level of restaurant it wasn’t worth going back, but the bar IS high to be fair
We ordered the six course tasting menu expecting to get two.... One for my husband and one for me. But we just got one and we're biting things in half to share. Pretty funny but kinda thought the waiter would assume we'd want the tasting menus for TWO instead of 1. Food tasted phenomenal, but had to get taco bell after lol
Quite a bit overpriced for the quality of food and service compared to other sushi spots in town. An automatic 20% service charge is added without disclosure anywhere else which makes for an awkward sales pitch from the server for an additional tip. Would go to other places before here!

The food was spectacular, our server Cayden was kind and thoughtful with recommendations, we also received our food so quickly each time we ordered more, and lastly the whole visit was beyond our expectations. Thank you!
Amazing food and ambience. We did the omakase. Cocktails were good but not remarkable. Service was very good but pace was just slightly slow for us. Not a deal breaker at all. We were just pretty hungry when we got there! The Nigiri courses were A+. Very expensive in general but what someone into high end sushi and omakase would expect. We will return!
We had a great time! The wasabi flight is so amazing and the service was so attentive. The entire staff is so welcoming and kind and warm.

Excellent food, service and ambiance. We always love going to Kumoya to enjoy a fabulous curated sushi experience.
The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. I just didn’t find the food to be memorable. The only way I can describe it is like the menu and dishes are trying to be Uchi (including the prices) but they just miss the mark. I don’t know if I’d personally choose to come back - there are other restaurants in Denver I’d opt for when it comes to sushi.
The eggplant dish was really good though.

Service was the biggest issue. Frustrating as you're paying a premium. However, we ordered a large variety of nigiri to try and they were all excellent - the toro was outstanding. Heads up there's a 20% service charge added to the bill. Restaurant has definitely gone downhill since the last time we visited in 2024.
Hang a few papers lanterns in a dark room and hope they can't read the prices on the menu appears to be their concept. Food was Ok. Tiny portions for the price. Tartare was nice. Dry aged fish was good. Lobster rice bowl was a joke to which we decided to leave and go grab a slice of pizza. Service was nice. Nothing spectacular. Automatic 20% “service charge” with an expected tip added for the server is insane and a total money grab. For the price point you can have much better meals at MANY other places -who don't ask you to pay their staff for them while charging you $40 for two bites of lobster in a giant bowl of rice. We will never be back.
Kumoya is a beautiful restaurant, and while we enjoyed our experience at the sushi bar, we’re completely shocked at how insanely overpriced it is. For the price ($300 check), there are far better places in town. One piece of their specialty nigiri was $18.
Not to mention they tack on a 20% “service fee” that “is not gratuity.” It’s disappointing to know that such an expensive restaurant is not properly paying its employees if this is necessary. We felt ripped off.
We left regretting our choice to visit for my birthday. I would recommend any of the Den restaurants, specifically Temaki Den, for a truly spectacular, reasonably priced experience.
