Chili was horrible. How can you mess up a guacamole tostada? Hovered over entire family taking plates off the table when we were still eating. Talk about over servicing and the old lady complained about splitting the check with our group. I was being a little stingy on my part as far as tipping which isn't my style. What irked me about this whole experience was that I'm a trusting person and I learned a lesson here about keeping a receipt. They actually took more out for a tip than I had put on the ticket. I will never have my family eat here again with these thieves. I have have to give 1 star because there is no option for zero stars.

I hadn't been to La Fogata in a number of years but remembered it as a good restaurant with a nice atmosphere. A very special friend and I went on a whim and I want to say right off the bat that my memory was way off. Our experience wasn't good or nice, it was excellent. More than excellent. Everything about our dinner exceeded anything I expected.Despite it being a Friday night, we were seated right away, to a nice table and immediately chips, salsa and water were delivered. Our server, Danny, was the best. Funny, attentive without being intrusive and a great guy. It didn't feel like we were being waited on, it felt like an old friend was dropping by to see how we were.The food itself was amazing. Despite the portions being generous, I still managed to clean my plate. My dinner partner, who I know as a light eater, ate more than I've ever seen her eat before. That alone confirmed how good the food was.We will return to La Fogata and will specifically ask for Danny. I don't write Google reviews. I don't even like the concept of reviews in general. But this was truly a five star experience and Danny was the best. I've never before walked out of a restaurant smiling and already thinking of returning, but I did this time.Huge kudos to all the staff of La Fogata and specifically to Danny! You made an evening with someone very special to me into a very special evening for both of us. Thank you for the beautiful memory.

The server was so rude. We had just finished a 6 hour hike and during our meal I put my head on my hand while my bf was eating. He came up to me and started quizzing me if I was sick even though it's none of his business!!! I felt like the service was poor and the staff was just super rude. I will never go back there again. no I'm not sick jerk just tired from a hike. Maybe do your job instead of butting into other peoples lives

May not be for everyone but I love it ( good food and good service ) in fact they still make my favorite dish from their old menu for me even though it is not on the current menu! Can't think of any other restaurant that would do that -- better than great service !

I left this review on google but looks like they're trying to flush it out with fake good reviews. shows that the owner doesn't care either I guess they condone this kind of aggressive behavior by their server. What a shame! Danny, the server, literally harrassed me and my fiance while trying to enjoy a date there but ended up leaving crying because of him. He seemed classist, fatphobic, discriminatory against asians or all of the above. Apparently, the owner is in Mexico, and he thinks it's okay to treat her restaurant like trash. He looked coked out. Or on some other kind of drug. Was aggressive and pushy. Touched my arm multiple times. He also thought it was appropriate to aggressively sit next to my fiance in the booth while we were explaining to the other server what was going on. Blamed me for the plastic in my food, and instead of apologizing, he said that if I wanted extra food, "he got me." It's really unfortunate that he has been a server there for 5 years. Maybe that's why he was so comfortable to speak so aggressively over the table to the point he was spitting saying to look him up on Yelp, basically threatening us to leave a review... clearly he feels like he is untouchable. Maybe he was too busy flirting with the other table filled with ladies, and that's why he brought us ground beef tacos instead of chicken tacos that we ordered. The ground beef was NOT good. Taco bell has better ground beef... my fajitas tasted okay. The rice and beans and salsa were good... I can't believe he literally said "there wasn't any plastic in the food when I brought it out. It's not my fault i dont even make the food....." and now apparently, he's concerned that he looks bad because the kitchen is blaming him. Honestly, that's not my problem. I just wanted to get the food that I ordered. Pay for it and leave. Being from LA, I was really excited that the food was actually good. But Danny literally was so mean I left the place crying. A male coworker had to hold him back because he approached my fiance and left him with no personal space while another female buser that mostly spoke Spanish even agreed with me after the 5th time telling Danny not to speak to me or my fiance anymore, and to step away. He made me feel so uncomfortable and so unsafe I've never had a server yell at me and blame me for whatever accident happened in the kitchen. I really do not understand how he has been there for 5 years. I know I'm not the only one who has felt that way due to his terrible service. And no, danny, the salsa wasn't hot for the 10th time that you asked. You should know asians can handle spicy food and not to call your customers poor. They should let the bus lady serve she speaks enough english and doesn't have smelly breath like danny did. He should stay freshened up if he wants to talk over the table and get so close to you. Also, no customers means no job, danny boy. Also the hostess deserves a raise. She was amazing.
