I enjoyed our dinner here! Margaritas were very good and priced right at about $10 a piece. We enjoyed the Yucatan and the spicy orange infused margs. The table side guac was in point in terms of flavor but was a bit small for $13. The entrees however we're excellent. We enjoyed the carnitas and the chicken zarape. The portions were large and the dishes were quite flavorful.

Dinner started out good with the watermelon margarita and queso fundido. I wanted something lighter so ordered the chopped salad. Big mistake! Too much dressing very bland and the combination of ingredients didn't work well. My friend ordered the fish tacos and they were dry and lacking flavor. Way more expensive than alot of better places to eat for what we got.

Service is always super friendly and fast! I go here for my lunch pretty often and always leave satisfied. Manager is GREAT!!!!

The hostess sat us twice in spots with direct sunlight, even though we asked to not be in direct sunlight and our waitress wasn't attentive when it came to refilling our drinks. Finally, we found hair in our food, pretty gross.

I'm absolutely shocked this place isn't an automatic 5 star! From the moment I walked in the door we were treated so well from every staff member and the food was amazing!! We had the queso as an app, and it was cooked to perfection and got even better as it cooled down. I got the LAVA taco and it was absolutely insane and one of the coolest things I've ever had. SO MANY different flavors all in one bowl! I loved making different tacos with it so that it felt like I was eating a new taco every time! It was my first time trying cactus! My husband got a chicken dish and I can't recall the name but it had creamy rice with it and oh my goodness so much creamy sauce it was amazing! Finished it off with some churros that were stuffed with this goat milk cream and it was a fun surprise! The staff was so on top of it and we got to speak with the manager Scott for awhile and he was equally just as personable and wonderful as the rest of the staff! Don't miss out on this place! It's seriously amazing!

We used to eat here regularly but it has been probably 2 yrs since the last time. Today when we went, the food was horrible, the service was horrible and we we never go back. Something has changed and this place is no longer on my list of go to's.

We were really glad to make the stop here at La Sandia on our last night in Denver. The service and food was awesome! Felt like we were back home in Texas.

Service was great, and the queso is delicious but the main courses were just ok. For instance, I got the fish tacos and the fish was very very dry. Definitely good in a pinch or for a casual week night.

I ordered the chicken chimichanga and was really underwhelmed. I got it half with the tomatillo sauce and half with the queso sauce. Both had good flavor though I kind of wish it wasn't literally put on half and half because I was too full to try much of the queso half. My main issue though was that my side of rice and beans was the exact same type that was inside my chimichanga. It is my mistake for missing that as the menu does say "served with rice and beans" and the chimichanga said "refried beans + rice + cheese + crema fresca." It was just an odd choice to me. The beans had good flavor but the rice was dry. I wish that they offered different sides to choose from, maybe a salad, tortilla chips, etc.

i got the marinated grilled chicken street tacos with lettuce wrap. the tacos itself was dry i wish it had more sauce on it. now let's get to the good stuff-- cheese dip and watermelon cucumber marg. cheese dip is HUGE and delicious. watermelon cucumber marg was refreshing and would get again. only getting 3 stars because of the tacos. would go back just for the marg tho.

The food was really good. I tried the Chicken Enchiladas, my husband had the Volcano Taco & our cousin had the Chicken Fajitas. We all enjoyed our food & drinks. They charge for chips and salsa ($4) and an add'l $3 for the habanero salsa.

Really good food. Limited menu but I appreciate a small menu done very well over a large, mediocre menu. A favorite at the table were the fried sweet plantains. Never seen these served at a Mexican restaurant and they were so delicious (coming from a Caribbean household where we eat these regularly)! Our sever was also great…I accidentally left my phone and he ran to our car to get it back to me. I loved the carne asada and my husband got the mole, which was also delicious. Others at the table ordered the chimichanga and the fajitas. Plus two kids meals which were great. 5 stars on the food and dessert (churros and tres leches).I will say there was one glaring issue: they have an early close time of 9pm and when it was close to9, the lights over our dining area literally went out and we couldn’t see our food. The man eating at the table near ours literally took his phone out to be able to see his food. If there are paying customers (we ordered several entrees plus dessert), let them finish their meal. This felt tasteless and rude…no staff seemed to know what was going on and everyone had a different excuse; it was pretty bizarre and felt like they were just trying to kick people out. If the lights are on an automatic timer, it needs to be fixed. Overall recommend aside from that. We will be back…maybe during the day to avoid that!!!

La Sandia used to be great, we used to eat there all the time when it was down in Park Meadows. Now it's pretty terrible. The guacamole was awful, they clearly didn't have enough avocado so they just loaded it up with onions and jalapeños. We never got a refill of anything, chips/drinks/salsa. Our orders weren't right and the chicken zarape (which used to be fantastic) was clearly a cheaper chicken since it was chewy. All in all, this place used to be one of our favorite restaurants in Denver and we'll never go back

Great food, drinks and location. Enjoy the mall area and always something to do! Pandemic didn't crush this place!
