Lazo Empanadas 16th Mall - Store #2

Pretty decent empanadas for an ok price on the 16th Street Mall. There's a lot of choices, which can make it hard to pick, but they are all pretty yummy, especially after a quick blast in the oven. They are more on the small side for empanadas, which is fine I guess

The food was good I love the chimichurri sauce. But it was very hot inside and the chairs looked uncomfortable so I just took it to go. And the empanadas were kind of small but very good.

I was there on May 22 to eat after my convention, when I walked in I was greeted by a very nice girl with a smile, she went above and beyond to help me select my food as I never had empanadas. I went to a couple other restaurants and definitely the service is not the same. I was impressed with her customer service skills I think her name is Alejandra and I really appreciate the great food and customer service. Definitely Ill be stopping by again.

A delightful hidden gem, smack dab in the heart of Downtown Denver. If you are partial to traditional empanadas, you have to try this place! The staff was polite and the service was very quick. The dining area has the relaxing ambiance you'd expect of a cafe tucked neatly in a quaint corner nook. There are many different savory flavors to choose from, and even several sweet options as well. The dough is perfectly crispy on the outside, yet flaky and tender on the inside. The Spinach & Cheese empanada drizzled with their signature Avacado sauce, washed down with an ice cold Corona, was quite the afternoon treat. 5 Stars. Highly recommend.

Flaky, fast empanadas. The Ham & Cheese and the Spinach are two of my favorites.

Food was delicious, received it quick, and went back for seconds. Definitely recommend trying out this place!

It’s a little pricey but 100% worth the price best empanadas I have ever eaten, I had no idea these pastries could be this good. Highly recommended.

Arrived 8:20 pm (40min before closing) and lady there was cleaning and made us feel unwelcome and rushed. Could not even get a smile out of her. On top of that, we ordered a 10 pack to go and she did not include any of the chimi sauces. Great tasting empanadas but lacking service

Wow, the beef empanada is killer. I tried other fillings but this is the one. The green sauce was ok, nothing special. Would totally go back.

I ordered 3 empanadas. Ground beef (which I was told was the most popular), ham and cheese, and steak quesadilla. My favorite were steak quesadilla and ground beef. They are slightly smaller than what they appear so it is a bit pricey for the size but it’s located in downtown Denver (very walkable from hotels in downtown) so that could be why. Either way the Empanadas were good and the staff was friendly! If you have time there’s a seating area at Denver Pavilion’s near Lazo’s which is a great place to eat your empanadas. :)

My order is always ready and waiting, which is excellent, especially with a short lunch period. My favorites are the spicy ground beef and also the chorizo, and egg and cheese. The spinach and cheese empanadas are also tasty if you want a vegetarian option. The staff are friendly and the restaurant always appears clean and well kept. This is one of the places I always tell my clients they should try while in town.

Cute place to have a light lunch after a strennous hike up the mountains. Empanadas was tasty and yummy. 100% worth the ride.
